Rie Daisies is a lyricist and musical composer from the good ol’ mitten state, Michigan. In her short time here on Earth she has been a cleaning lady, an activist, a hairdresser, a model, a secretary, and has even done her stints as a villain and as a martyr. Most recently her personal story was featured in an educational article exploring the role of music and creative expression in her experiences as a transgender student, which has been receiving a considerable amount of attention within the academic community and was published by The Journal of Research in Music Education. Through out this all, the one thing that has remained constant has been her passion to express herself in a tangible way by combining her written words with her musical arrangements. She plays a plethora of wind instruments including the flute and clarinet, as well as percussion, piano, omnichord and the autoharp. With four self-released EP’s under her belt, the last being recorded and produced by music industry professionals at Soundtrack Boston, she has now released her first full length, self-produced album; "On the Home-Front".
