This is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in any genre. Jredd, you are a master. I listened to a whole lot of chiptunes and I can say without hesitation that you are the very best songwriter in this genre. You have a true gift for harmony. I'll be eagerly waiting for each new song you release. Your tunes represent the pinnacle of chiptunes! As far as I'm concerned, this is the gold standard by which all future chiptune artists should measure themselves by.

This track is from the second incarnation of Nintendium-118, a collaborative chiptune compo hosted by the PSG Cabal themed around the elements. Each entrant was randomly assigned an element from the periodic table, and had to create a chiptune track based around it. This year's release features a healthy mixture of newcomers and alumni from Volume 1, leading to a compo that is familiar, yet also refreshingly novel.

"I wanted to play into the rougher, more coarse aspects of my material; pure tungsten is jagged, rugged and very rough to look at. On these criteria, I ended up creating a (post-processed) Megadrive + SNES prog metal soundscape, with some huge acoustic drums to gel it all together, and give it some clean sound amidst the girth of these two consoles' sounds. A lot of frustration with my creative rut went into this as well, so this also served as a good catharsis for me in the end."
