Liqiud Skies

The New York based duo Vortex Music was formed in 2009 when producer/songwriters Hugh Colocott and Jimmy Santis began collaborating. Their unique brand of vibrant modern power pop songs, has been heard around the world from the legendary rock group Asia to releases from artists like Top 10 Latino recording artist Sandino on BMG Records, #1 Christian record with Carman on EMI Records, #3 record with Daniel Chan for Universal, Gretchen Espina’s Greatest Hits Collection for Sony-BMG, and most recently their release with the exciting new rock band Superhero on Universal. 

Their music has caught the ears of music supervisors throughout the U.S., having placed songs on numerous T.V. shows such as, ABC's "Prom Queen", "Living Lohan", "Life with the Kardashions", "DeGrassi:  The Next Generation", "All My Children", “The Young And The Restless”, “Melrose Place”, and “Beverly Hills 90210”. Their songs have also been featured in the Disney film “Santa Buddies”, Warner Brothers Film “The Utopian Society”, and in the Columbia Pictures film and soundtrack “Centerstage” on Epic Records.

As a recording engineer Jimmy Santis has worked with such legendary producers as Quincy Jones, Phil Ramone, Russ Titelman and Thom Bell. His record credits include work with superstars Frank Sinatra, Madonna, Paul Simon, The Talking Heads, The Ramones and Ziggy Marley. Being exposed to such incredible talent prepared Jimmy for his journey to pursue his passion for producing and songwriting.

Hugh Colocott was a signed recording artist and producer for RCA Records. In his illustrious career, he has worked with such artists as Lyle Lovett, Los Lobos, Joan Jett, Aimee Mann, Expose, Taylor Dayne and John Cafferty.  His diverse experiences as a producer, songwriter, and recording artist have given him an exceptional  palette on which to draw upon.
