Hi,
Mit neun hat mich die Musik gepackt. Erst Akkordeon, mit etwa fünfzehn kam die Gitarre dazu, später das Klavier. Ich hatte zeitweise Unterricht, belegte Kurse in Musiktheorie und habe vor allem durch Ausprobieren viel gelernt. Als Erwachsener habe ich ein Audio-Engineer-Diplom abgeschlossen und produziere seitdem intensiver am Rechner. Improvisation ist meine Stärke—ich liebe Musik, die im Moment entsteht. Danke fürs Zuhören!

Music hooked me at nine. I started on accordion, picked up guitar in my teens, and later added piano. I studied with teachers, took theory courses, and learned even more by experimenting. As an adult I completed an Audio Engineering diploma and dove deep into recording and production on the computer. I love improvisation and making music that feels alive. Thanks for listening—I hope my tracks give you a good moment.

BBS5— Beats & Beyond,  is Florian Schmid’s music project and the sonic core of the 5 Records Universe. 

Under the name BBS5 Music / 5 Records, electronic, experimental, and atmospheric tracks come to life — drifting between Chillout, Dark Ambient, Cinematic, and Psychedelic. Piano, synths, voices, natural textures, and deep emotions form a universe of their own: dark, dreamy, and full of stories.

I am a songwriter for the most part. I do sing, but it's been a few years and my voice no longer matches the old unfinished recordings I have and used to post here -part of growing up, I guess. Anyway, no big deal- it happens to basically all us dudes eventually if we live long enough. 

I don't know if I'll ever do another audio recording of myself ever again. But, I haven't stopped writing song lyrics and practicing my sound engineering skills that I use mostly as a hobby at this point. 

I use a few different programs like Mixcraft and Audacity as well as a few different A.I. custom sound and music generator programs all together in order to bring my written words to life- so that at least someone will sing my songs, even if it's just the A.I. since I can't sing them the way I used to anymore anyway. Some friends of mine also help out, from time to time; but, other than that I'm pretty much solo over here.
