구름 하나를 건네던 너의 눈빛 속에,
아무 말 없이 내어주던 디즈니+ 속에,
명절마다 들려오던 “밥 잘 챙겨 먹어”라는 그 목소리 속에—
나는 조용한 사랑을 느꼈어.
내가 방어적으로 굴어도, 차갑게 밀어내도…
넌 여전히 내 곁에 있었지. 그게 나를 살린 거였어.

Back then, I thought you could feel my heart without words.
In the look in your eyes when you gave me that single cloud,
in the silence when you handed me Disney+,
and in the voice that told me “Make sure you eat well” every holiday—
I felt a quiet kind of love.
Even when I was defensive, even when I pushed you away coldly…
you were still there beside me. That’s what saved me.

가까운 듯 멀고, 잡을 듯 놓아버리는… 그게 우리였지.
서로 마음을 알면서도 끝내 이름 붙이지 못한 채,
매일 그 사이 어딘가를 왔다 갔다 했어.

네 장난 속에 숨은 진심을 나는 읽었고,
멀어졌다가도 다시 스며드는 너의 온기를 기억해.
그리고 네가 멈춘 그 자리에서,
나 아직도 그대로 머물러 있어.

단 한 줄의 훅, “A heartbeat away, still miles apart” —
그 모순이, 바로 우리 이야기야.

가끔은 강한 척을 하지 않아도 된다고,
엄마는 내게 말했어.
“울어도 괜찮아,
그 눈물 속에도 내가 널 사랑하는 마음은 변하지 않아.”

따뜻한 밥처럼,
내 마음 깊숙이 스며든 엄마의 사랑.
멀리 있어도, 보이지 않아도
언제나 내 곁에 있다고 느껴졌어.

“두려워하지 말고 살아가렴,
내 사랑은 언제까지나 너를 감싸줄 거야.”
그건 이 세상에서 내가 받은 마지막이자
영원히 잊지 못할 속삭임이었어.

“Sometimes you don’t have to pretend to be strong,”
Mom once told me.
“It’s okay to cry —
even in those tears, my love for you will never change.”

Like a warm meal,

아마 나도 알아… 내가 이미 네 곁에 없다는 걸.
그런데 왜 아직… 바람이 네 이름을 흥얼거릴까.

넌 사라졌는데, 어쩐지 모든 곳에 남아 있어.
창가에 스며드는 빛 속에도,
우연히 흘러나온 멜로디 속에도,
모든 것이 멈춘 순간 들려오는 그 ‘음’ 속에도.

이건 울음이 아니야. 그냥 남아 있는 거야.
말보다 침묵이 더 많은 걸 말하는 노래.
고백 대신 흥얼거림, 멜로디 대신 숨결.
그리고 남겨진 건… 내가 설명할 수 없는 어떤 온기.

다시 볼 수 없는데도,
어딘가… 방금 곁에 있었던 것만 같아.

첫날, 너는 나를 그냥 지나칠 거라 생각했지.
그런데 단 한 번에, 네 마음 속 비밀을 맞혀버렸어.
네가 놀란 눈으로 나를 보며, “스토킹했어?”라고 웃을 때—
난 이미 알았어.
그 순간, 너와 나 사이에 무언가 시작됐다는 걸.
그리고 겨울 햇살 속 너의 웃음은, 아직도 내 기억에 가장 선명한 장면이야.

That first day, you thought I’d just pass by.
But in one shot, I guessed the secret you kept inside.
When you looked at me, wide-eyed, laughing, “Are you stalking me?” —
I already knew.
