Berlin based, Italian born, Alessandro and Federico Fognini are not just brothers in arms but actual brothers who have been growing up together their whole lives. Which might help explain why these 2 recent arrivals on the scene have already established a sound much more mature than their years might suggest.

It's this intense maturity that they bring to this debut EP. With a sonic depth acquired by many hours already logged in the studio and a sophisticated world view that comes across in the stories their music tells, Mind Against (as they are more formally known) make pictures with their sound and their pictures tell more than thousands of words could tell alone.

On their Atlant EP they paint us a picture of lost civilizations and intergalactic missionaries. Transdimensional creatures that visit us in our dreams and in our visions, bringing us coded messages about the future from a place beyond time. Where everything can be reduced to vibrations and controlling sound waves is akin to controlling a physical reality. With a throbbing beat and epic melodies they build towers of steel and halls of philospher's stone. Places of thought and worship where futurstic sounds hold court with swinging percussive beats, telling us tales of how we can work together to overcome the challenges of our immediate circumstances and reunite the illusions of our separate selves once again into a whole being. A whole and complete universal concsiousness with a deeper understanding of its true self.

Music has the power to be a really beautiful thing. It marks certain moments in time that you carry with you your whole life. When ever you hear certain tracks they transport you right back to some place wonderful. I'm madly in love with my girlfriend Christina and went with her in 2012 to Lightning in a bottle where I played this set. LIB is a wonderful and diverse festival on the West coast of America. It was Christina's and my first festival together. I wanted to make it a really really special trip and decided beforehand to play only for her that day inspired by and full of my love for the most gorgeous, lovely and sweet girl I've ever met.  

LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE 2012 PART TWO

Zounds! A midweek treat for the weary psychedelic travelers shackled to desks and manning the meatpacking lines. Perched on the precipice of a massive fall tour complete with a stunning new live show and a gaggle of special guests, Ott has blessed The Untz with unholy water (it stings) and a fancy new single hot off the presses and straight from the laboratory. "Baby Robot" is a lush, symphonic piece oozing with walls of cushy synths and a hypnotic beat that laps up against the ethereal vox like waves on the shore.

The B-Side "Mr. Balloon Hands" is a trippy, broken beat opus riddle with Indian raga scatting and plenty of exotic percussion to get those tired feet moving. Bouncy, buoyant, and ebullient, this cut will push you over onto the safety of the weekend whereupon Ott triumphantly returns to the great state of Colorado with a pair of shows on the 13th and 14th: first at the Mish up near Ft. Collins, and then Boulder bound on Saturday. The rest of the country need not fret, the brand new show hits cities big and small from coast to coast through the month of September and into October with Bluetech, Anomie Belle, Aligning Minds, and many more incredible acts.

Ott - Baby Robot [EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE]

Nils Frahm is one of the best artists out there in my opinion, with pretty much the best live show I've ever seen. But aside from all that, this was just a really enjoyable remix to work on because the original is such a great piece of music, and seemingly so well suited to what I wanted to do with it - which was to try and turn Nils' instrumental jam on his Juno, into something house/techno/club/44 compatible, but still carrying the class and feeling of the original. It was one of those remixes that just seemed to fit and flow easily, with minimum strain and maximum enjoyment on my part - usually a good sign for a remix (the one's that have to be forced never seem to quite get there).

The next full length from techno tastemakers Delsin is co-released by the man who made it, Morphosis aka Ra.H aka Rabih Beaini, on his own Morphine Records, as well as by close associate M>O>S. Entitled "What Have We Learned", the Lebanese-born producer’s album is due in April 2011.

Kicking off with the Redshape-channelling, misty, slo-techno march and buried percussive clatter of ‘Silent Screamer’, the album builds through a plethora of grainy landscapes. They’re sometimes dense with a dusty static, sometimes lit up by a female vocal or occasionally paired with a round house kick, but always sound rooted in some real (albeit far off and desolate) world.

After the sensation caused by its last release, Life and Death comes back strong with another battle cry into the darkness. With a prized new member of the family, Vaal, joining forces with a Life and Death mainstay, Tale of Us, the stage is set for another epic EP from the forward thinking label.

On the A side Concor grabs the listener with its immediate sense of urgency and a beckoning, slightly exotic melody. As it slowly twists and turns, moving ever more insistently towards its peak it propels the listener to a distant exotic land, as a throbbing beat and cymbals accentuate and elevate the tension. Already a mainstay of the few DJs lucky enough to get their hands on it early, this is sure to be one that will lodge itself deeply into the collective unconscious as we make the long march thru winter and back to summer again.

Over on the B side comes Seahnak, an equally beautiful piece of music that manages to present its intricate melody without ever letting its energy dip. Gothic and yet regal at the same time, as the lead synth shoots out the gate, it takes us on a surprising journey as it pushes the limits of what we might expect from dance music while raising our expectations of it in the process.

Hot on the heels of his recent groundbreaking Fabric 64 compilation, Supplement Facts bossman Guy Gerber is now ready to get "Steady" with a brand new EP and worldwide tour.

Acclaimed photographer Martin Zalba Ibáñez has been tapped to provide a new series of B&W photos for the iconic Supplement Facts covers. The first one can be seen on Gerber's first release on his own Supplement Facts label in almost two years, which sees him pairing with dOP frontman Jaw for 'Steady,' a melodic track filled with soaring synth lines, Guy's emotional bass guitar chords, and Jaw's incredibly performance featuring his trademark eerie, distorted vocals.

Rounding out the release is a beefed up Midland remix of Steady - perfect for peak time dance floor destroying. The vinyl B- side is a re-edit of the Golden Sun & the Silver Moon, a dreamy standout track off of the Fabric compilation (and Guy's alternate name for the Fabric mix itself) featuring vocals by Clarion North of Footprintz (look for their upcoming album on Visionquest soon).
