Recording of my Sunday's afternoon set at Plan:et C (Gamma).

Felt surreal to arrive to this magical place after such a strange year. Big thanks goes to Kulturkosmos community for making this whole thing happen in such challenging times.

A dream come true, and I can only be thankful for all the listeners that took their time to listen and dance to this set. I am still overwhelmed, to be able to play at Fusion festival for the first time (officially). 

The whole recording is composed mostly by unreleased material of my own productions, including a few songs by my dear friend @avemsdream.

So liebe Hörer und Freunde der elektronischen Musik … dies ist der letzte Mix aus meiner „We Are At Home“ Reihe. Vor genau 2 Jahren habe ich mit Judith von Waterkant diese Reihe gestartet. Wer hätte gedacht das uns dieser Virus so lange begleitet … und leider is er auch noch nicht vorbei. Aber wir haben keinen Lockdown mehr und der Großteil der Beschränkungen ist seit heute auch aufgehoben … deswegen ist es heute ein guter Tag die Reihe einzustellen. 

Ich befand mich ja eigentlich im Ruhestand seit Januar 2020 … damals hab ich meine sound(ge)cloud Reihe eingestellt. Naja nun hab ich nochmal 85 Podcast in 2 Jahren Pandemie veröffentlicht und auf FB meine Hörer fleißig mit Sets und guter Musik versorgt. Was soll ich sagen ich bin ganz schön gesättigt von der elektronischen Musik und mach jetzt erst mal wieder eine längere Pause. Aber sag niemals nie … vielleicht hab ich ja irgendwann mal wieder Bock was zu machen.

Nun wünsch ich euch nochmal viel Spaß mit dem Set von Chaos Katy aus Leipzig und bleibt schön Gesund.

Here is the live recording of my set at 44,5 Katzen tanzen auf'm Tisch at Kater Blau last monday. I had the chance to play a little faster than usual in the beginning, before entering familiar slowrave waters after a while.

Kennt ihr eigentlich @schubistrassenfeger? Beim Hoffest des Lebendigen Landbaus in Upahl hörte ich diesen Sommer einen Gig von ihm. Sein "Vogel" Lied hat es mir natürlich besonders angetan! Grüße!

Sometimes I feel like I am having a small fog machine, creating warm and stunning felicity, in my chest. This machine was running at full blast this weekend, and it is still swirling, even though I‘m pretty tired. The fluid seems to be made of music, beautiful people and souls, sunshine and a lot of love. 
Here's the Set I played, maybe you can get your inner fog machines working again too, by listening to it, reveling in beautiful memories of this Rebellion or creating new cloud-castles <3

Here is a set from the depth of my heart an soul. It's different than the things I have been doing lately...maybe because it's from the other side of the world. I didn't mind if the tracks were new or old, I let my feelings lead me. I have processed all the wonderful experiences I was able to have during my stay in Mazunte. Damit die Fusion 2019 gerade in diesem Moment stattfinden kann,  musste der Kulturkosmos und auch wir alle ganz schön kämpfen. Doch für „Die Freiheit der Kunst“ lohnt es sich einmal mehr aufzustehen und seine Stimme zu erheben … denn wir wollen uns unsere Kunst und Utopien nicht wegnehmen lassen.

Den Termin für diesen Podcast haben wir schon länger ausgemacht und er ist ganz zufällig auf den Fusion Termin gefallen. Als Frida und Judith mir dann den Mix geschickt haben, meinten sie „Da er zur Fusion raus kommt, haben wir uns ne kleine Sache überlegt und so eine Art "Fusion Special" gemacht (mit kleinen Pressekonferenz schnipseln am Anfang und Ende).“ Und weil die Fusion 2019 schon jetzt etwas ganz spezielles ist … wurde es auch hier ein Special. DANKE FUSION … Danke Kulturkosmos … Danke Fridi und Judi <3

Allen Fusionisten wünsch ich eine umwerfende und zauberhafte Fusion mit viel Freiheit und Kunst. Und meinen Hörer und allen die nicht auf die Fusion fahren hier nun eine wunderbare Stunde mit Frida und Judith.

sound(ge)cloud 117 Fusion-Special by Frida Darko & Judith van Waterkant – für die Freiheit der Kunst

This has to be one of the weirdest situations under which I performed so far. Tribal Gathering had been under military lockdown for fear of Corona. Nobody let in or out - With some sneaking through smuggled routes. Attendants where in a paradisical spot at Playa Chiquita. Deep in Kuna Yala territory - jungle, ocean whatever you could whish for. 

The mood had been more contemplative than enthusiastic for a few days - people where worried about what the future might bring. Especially the artist community knew at this point that all upcoming  events were cancelled - their careers f##ked for the time beeing. 

With the prospect dawning upon us that this would be the last rave in a long time we were gripped by a quite sinister rave mode. And I decided to strongly rearrange my set on the spot - hoping to provide a valve to let out these mixed emotions. 

I played this for the moment, to provide some healing, not for uploading it on the internet. Now I am happy that it has been recorded as it will probably be the last real set in a long while.
