We love a good duo here at DT. Batman and Robin, Torvill and Dean, Tango and Cash; we could go on all day. Thus, it gives us great pleasure to welcome in another double act of serious distinction as Luna City Express serve up the lead cut of their new EP for 20/20 Vision as our latest Debut Transmission.

The four track (and curiously titled) 'Smokin' Bull' EP offers a selection of dancefloor killers, but pick of the bunch for us here at Data Transmission has to be the title-track. With a loose, hip swinging bass line coupled with warm and powerful synth stabs and a memorable Rhodes piano solo, 'Smokin' Bull' will have feet shuffling and hands raised for the duration.

Set to arrive November 16th, we're hopeful we'll be hearing lots more from Norman Weber and Marco Resmann under their collaborative moniker in the new year with this EP sure to pick up plenty of play in the meantime.

"Make room for the Mushrooms" a TV advert once cried and we are doing just that today in our Debut Transmission as we drop the House Of Virus & Tom Finn Remix of Marshall Jefferson's ‘Mushrooms (Remixes)’ before it comes out Freakin909 on 4th April.

Mushrooms recounts a true story, in which Marshall retells of a psychedelic mushroom trip he once had in Florida that had him “walking on clouds.” This new remix EP captures the euphoria of the original, and serves it up three-ways, showcasing an exciting and skilful musicality. House Of Virus have teamed up with rising producer, Tom Finn, their main remix which are premiering delves into tech-house territory, with a powerful groove-based mix that warps, bends, and rolls along beautifully.

We also today have hit 50,000 followers on our Soundcloud channel, so we'd like to thank everyone that's followed us, listened to the music we've posted and continue been involved with Data Transmission.

Making his debut on Libero this October is Solid Grooves resident and Distance Music frontman, Bassel Darwish. He has built up a solid reputation for high-quality releases on some of the industry’s top labels over the last few years, so we are delighted to add him to our release catalogue. ‘This Is What We Do’ features an original single from Bassel, along with remixes from frontmen Mike Morrisey & Luke welsh and Francesco Squillante.

The Original Mix comes in hot with uptempo energy and swaying rhythm. Bright drums and a huge sub-bass coast along in a wave-like fashion with crisp percussion and hats piercing their way through the main beef of the track. Vocal-driven breakdowns steal your attention with a captivating hook and subtle undertones before punching you back into the beat.

Label bosses Mike Morrisey and Luke Welsh follow up with their spin on the track. Pumping more zip and groove into the original concept with longer buildups and atmospheric, energetic drops. A low-slung, driving bassline paired with uptempo, rolling percussion make it a perfect peak-time driver. About as good of an example of the Libero Sound as you’ll get from the label chieftains.

Squaring things off, Francesco Squillante applies a gritty tone to his mix. A heavy, in your face bassline carries the track and is supplemented by quirky, offbeat samples as well as some additional creative vocal work. A solid display of ‘same but different’ at play here; the sign of a very intelligent, experienced producer.
