🗣️: This is the first mix of mine where older, almost “archival” music clearly takes the lead over fresh stuff. I wanted to expand on an idea I teased in my 20-minute segment in the last mix with Julek Ploski and Fire-Toolz—looking for a sonic bridge between music composed for games, anime, and films around the Y2K era and today’s umm... “internet” music? i guess

the more I dug, the more in awe I was of people like Yoko Kanno, Masashi Hamauzu, or Hitoshi Sakamoto... that music is just incredible. and honestly — I’m not some kind of otaku, I know next to nothing about anime. but the music? so many gems hidden in those archives...

so yeah, I’d say the mix leans toward easy listening—I wanted it to be an immersive journey, at times dreamy/melancholic. I was searching for a sense of adventure and this kind of childlike naivety/innocence. there are also some tracks totally outside the OST realm, just because they worked musically next to each other, no deeper meaning.
