Since 2011 Ontal have shaped their reputation as spearheads of the industrial techno faction, and with their sophomore album, they join HANDS in an intuitive liaison: Beats and filth, club appeal and noisy debris are the shared agenda. And yet, the sound of “Amass” is more than a combination, a hybrid of styles, but a coherent flow of dark rhythmic and experimental music that touches the conscience of the industrial aficionado. An album in its classic sense, these 11 tracks offer a lot of physical appeal and substantial bass riffs, as well as a thrilling storyline – an hour of sound that won’t let you go.

With a string of 12” releases and remixes under their belt, Serbian duo Boris Brenecki and Darko Kolar aka ONTAL are surely one of the most requested acts in the industrial techno circuit – which currently only seems to gather more and more momentum. Perfect times for an album with a timeless sound, a culmination point of traditions: “Amass” doesn’t exclude, it gives equal room to the minimal elegance of “First Sign” and the heaviness of “Improvidence”, upfront techno bangers like “Defeated Obstacles” or “Solidification” stand next to the IDM-enriched abstraction of the two parts of “Pareidolia”. “For Industrial People” is like a wonderful welcome gift for the HANDS crowd – and the fastest tune among the lot. Sonic post punk references can be found throughout, like in the clanging metal sounds of “2416”, and the final cut “Pressure Rise Equation” successfully bridges the gap between dance floor and experiment.
The amassed consciousness of a genre, conveyed in an album that will generate massive crossover appeal!

This track is so special. Made for the Solstice, entirely built with the sounds of archive videos i made for my very good friends "Les Leuki", an historical re-enactment group of people gathered to explain how the Celts lived and died in the ancient ages. Except for the Taïko drum and a discrete drone, everything has been recorded live during their shows in France and Germany. I would like to dedicate this track to them ! TEUTATIS ! ;)

About the project: 
Since I am traveling a lot and I make music all the time anyway, I had the following idea: Soak up the vibe of the place I am in right now. Infuse these vibes into a song that also includes original sounds I recorded at the place. Film what I see and experience and edit a video to the song so that you can be there with me. And include a little tutorial for beginners to show you how I work. Combining all that, I created the series "Traveling Musician". 

The first episode is about Tokyo. I strongly felt a juxtaposition of formality in public life and work and a wonderful and crazy nightlife with lots of laughter and openness. I also thought about David Bowie's albums in the late 70ies ("I'm under Japanese influence" - Blackout), especially the "Heroes" album, and how they used drum snippets and fills on that album. My drum programming is a little tribute to that.

I really like making sets like “The Couch King Sofa Barn” and “The Horror Host” but they take a long time to make and I don’t think SoundCloud loves the long song format. A number of us are almost finished with another song in this project. I am excited to hear how the whole thing turns out. Massive thanks to everyone presently involved and all my future collaborators in these crazy visions. I hope everyone is having fun on the cloud. I feel like this can be a very fun time for the SoundCloud community as we have all matured and know ourselves in relation to music better. 

This song got started when another rapper first asked me to collaborate with him. He sent me a beat, but I tend to want to focus on original music from our community so I asked Joerxworx if he wanted to work on a beat with only horns in a New Orleans marching funeral band style. Joerxworx agreed and provided me with massive horns to work with! The other rapper was no longer interested by now in working with me so I asked Jon Lock if he wanted to join in and fortunately he agreed, cause I love his funky soulful vocal stylings! Russell did an amazing job mixing and mastering my sloppy drums and the rest of the track to perfection. I was also very fortunate that Wou-Wou & the Wormling was willing to collaborate on art work for this track, fully completing the spirit of community collaboration!
