Woke up this morning, said, “This one’s mine,
My only day off, I’ma take my time.”
Phone start blowin’, “Yo, come outside,”
And before I knew it, I’m stuck in their ride.

All day long, we just runnin’ around,
Errands, parties, different sides of town.
I kept smilin’, but deep inside,
I knew my little peace was gettin’ denied.

It’s midnight when I hit the door.
I been out all day, and I’m tired to the bone,
This was my one chance to be left alone.

Damn, my off day just turned into smoke.

Saw the sun set through a car window,
Laughin’ with my boys, but my energy low.
They don’t see it how my back still aches,
From that ten-hour shift I just had to take.

Wanted movies, snacks, maybe catch some sleep,
But they dragged me to a bar on 5th Street.
Now it’s 11:30, and I’m finally free,
But the day’s all gone, wasn’t mine to keep.
