This superb package is completed with a melodic masterpiece remix of ‘Platurno’ from Melbourne’s emotive master GMJ.

Having been originally introduced to the onedotsixtwo global audience via their ‘True Level’ contribution to Gustin’s excellent ‘Synchronicity’ (ODST0019) mix comp, Oliver & Tom’s skilled musicianship – a symbiosis that originated in their childhood, having grown up together playing guitar and drums, followed by studying piano and synthesizer – has seen them become firm label favourites.

The pulsating ‘Platurno’, with its joyous and beautiful layers of melody, once again highlights the duo’s exceptionally skilled musicianship that sets them apart from the crowd. Their ability to create perfectly arranged productions is further highlighted by the equally heavenly, melody-rich ‘Southern Lakes’.

Returning for its eighth outing, Meanwhile co-owner, Matter, makes his solo debut for the label via the unique musical triptych of “Amanita”.

From his Melbourne home, Matty Doyle has generated a tsunami of success through his Matter production moniker. Able to point to a release portfolio with over 400 production credits to his name, such esteemed imprints as Balance, Anjunadeep, BeatFreak Recordings and Proton Music have all played host to his much sought-after music.

Now creating a new narrative for his unrivalled talents within his co-owned Meanwhile label alongside fellow countryman, GMJ, “Amanita” is redolent in trademark production features that have seen Matter is such high demand. A smooth blend of rolling percussive groove, heavy beat and cavernous bassline propel the track forward with unrelenting pace as a filtered arpeggio adds to the aural melange. A glorious synth lead enters the fray at the mid-point breakdown before a rousing wall of sound marks a club-friendly zenith before the track builds once more with its star-studded cast of musical characters.

The heavy beat and wite-noise washes of “Hikikomori” provide a weighty anchor, allowing an immaculately programmed bassline groove to weave its path between four-to-the-floor rhythm and offbeat hi-hat shuffle. A heavily delayed synth line adds a touch of class as it ripples across the seven-minute piece with ease, providing subtle introspection and emotive layers in abundance. The result is a head-shaking groover that is sure to the take dancefloors by storm into 2021.

A pulsating, running bassline immediately characterises “Wormhole” as it dynamically develops courtesy of an intelligently placed melodic variation that provokes a spine-tingling emotion in the listener. An array of percussive shakers and chest-thumping kick create a spellbinding sonic palette, while a free-flowing synth line drenched in reverb and delay adds to the emotion playing off the filtered and now staccato bassline phrase. Creating a flawlessly executed progressive house anthem, Matter has once again demonstrated why his production work draws such high praise from fans and peers alike.

A career that continues to mushroom at impressive pace, “Amanita” exhibits all the qualities that finds Matter very much flavour of month.

Matter - Amanita

The latest release from Clubsonica Records welcomes Dougal Fox to the label for his debut EP. As a DJ for the better part of two decades, the UK artist has been a fixture in his country's nightlife, programming music for storied venues such as Pacha. Also travelling abroad, the London resident has spent time in both Australia and New Zealand, playing Sydney's iconic superclub HOME, as well as Wellington's 'Sandwiches'. Having honed his skills as a producer for some time, Dougal now embarks on his first official release entitled 'Nostalgia | Ataraxia', alongside remixes from Michael A and Oliver and Tom.

Getting the release underway and setting the sonic aesthetic for Dougal's sound is 'Nostalgia'. Warm beats, rolling bass tones and striking percussion set the piece in motion, as dreamy arps and wispy atmospheres encase the framework. Buoyant stabs and aquatic effects then further the narrative, as a series of harmonic drifts elevate mood into the main break. As the interlude builds, a bed of choppy percussion begins an exhilarating rise, with modulation peaking as a wave of noise fades off into a groovy drop and glowing finale. The companion piece 'Ataraxia' proves to be a perfect complement with its deep, spacious groove and tantalizing electronics. Luminous arps dance amidst a maze of driving percussion, perfectly shifting energy into the main break. Cosmic and meditative in equal measure, the interlude saturates your senses with a cascading motif, running through tasteful modulation, before reaching a gentle crescendo and purring final movement.

The lone interpretation of 'Nostalgia' is provided by Michael A who returns to the label for his second appearance. Hailing from Belarus, Michael sits amongst progressive music's elite guard. As a favourite of the genre's premiere tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, Michael has also showcased his music on top tier labels, including Cid Inc's Replug Records, Hope Recordings and Sudbeat Music. Now making a welcome return to Clubsonica, Michael provides a powerful rendition of 'Nostalgia'. Engaging from the outset, spongy kicks and rhythmic pulses converge for a fluid foundation, while percussive splashes and astral sonics bring character and texture to the groove. Building a mysterious narrative across the first act, hazy harmonics shift energy into the main break, where billowing bass swells rise amidst a haze of colourful effects, as the beats drop for a moment of reflective warmth.

The release concludes with Oliver and Tom returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'Ataraxia'. Following a successful 2019 that featured releases on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and Balance Music, the Argentinean duo made their Clubsonica debut in September of this year with a well received remix of Kabi's 'Open Road'. Now following an EP for onedotsixtwo, Oliver and Tom return to the label with a gorgeous take on 'Ataraxia'. The Argentinean duo reprocesses the main elements into newfound themes for what sits as an ideal complement to the original. Atop a tough, compact groove comes effervescent phrasing and buoyant tonal themes. Bright and compelling, it's a gorgeous amalgamation of sound which makes for an energetic yet tranquil journey, elegantly melting down across a two-minute interlude, before a spirited final act puts a cap on this creative gem. A gorgeous remix from Oliver and Tom which rounds out a hugely successful Clubsonica debut for Dougal Fox.

Juicebox Music's 40th release sees the Argentinian duo - EANP, presenting their 2-track EP featuring 'Terra' & 'Guardians'. Formerly known by their individual artist names and producing together since 2014, Ezequiel Anile & Nicolas Petracca already have an impressive & long list of productions under their belt, with Nicolas Petracca having made his debut appearance on our imprint back in 2016 through a remix of Tanseer's "Both Sides". Even though the duo rebranded themselves in 2018 to form "EANP", the focus on quality progressive music stayed which lead to high calibre releases on Antrim's "Or Two Strangers", Dale Middleton's "Tarnished Tracks", Rick Pier O'Neil's "RPO Records", Tash's "Movement Recordings" & many more, with a milestone moment being their track "Stamp" getting included in Hernan Cattaneo's Sunsetstrip series for "Balance Music". For their debut EP with Juicebox Music, EANP unleashes yet another two powerful pieces - 'Terra' with its deep groovy atmospheric journey & 'Guardians' with its floaty driving & melodic vibe.

Hailing from Goa (India), Greenage Fernandes returns to Juicebox Music to give EANP's 'Terra' a remix treatment. Associated with finely curated labels like Mango Alley, Proton Music & One of A Kind, Greenage became a firm favourite of both the deep house & progressive camps, finding his music being played out by the best of the best, ranging from the likes of Hoj & Tim Green to Hernan Cattaneo & Tony McGuiness (Above & Beyond). Greenage decided to flip the mood with his rendition of 'Terra', turning it into a light, airy & euphoric setting.

Sri Lanka's very own Subandrio & Nishan Lee combine forces to make another return to the label. Both holding highly impressive solo discographies with Subandrio having released EPs on "Sudbeat", "Replug" & "Flow Vinyl" and Nishan Lee having releases on "BeatFreak", "onedotsixtwo" & "One of A Kind" to name a few. Their initial collaboration came through a remix of Tommi Oskari's 'Sri Lanka' back in 2016 on our label and it was followed up a few months later with a 3-track EP titled 'The Basement'. Subandrio & Nishan Lee's hypnotic & tougher interpretation of EANP's 'Guardians' clearly showcase their unique strengths, making this a powerful & rare combination.
