FOR THE RECORD...(acoustic piano and vocals)

At the beginning, Jamie and I wanted to create a jam session with 3 keyboardists. We started the track with Calaminus at the organ solo, Jamie at the trombone patch and me at the electric piano. Later, Mirko "StringBurner" joined us on the bass, bring us beautiful bass arrangements and an outstanding solo. Thanks to Mirko and thanks to Jamie Rhind & Calaminus  for their amazing keyboards solos.

Bone Of Contention

After our first collaboration - https://soundcloud.com/markjbennett/set-me-down-that-road-rplanesmjbennett - Rodolfo offered me a challenge in the form of a decades old song (in a folk/pop style, complete with tape hiss) that he was updating with a platform that is closer to R&B and my task was to come up with a new lyric. This original break-up song had an air of a happy ending to it, though initially I chose to write something less optimistic… however it became clear that with the new arrangement my words had to match the original mood. The added bonus to this is that I now have another break-up song lyric available for the future.
Singing a song that had already existed in another form meant that I had to find a very personal interpretation in order to make it truly mine. A huge thanks to Rodolfo for sharing his inspiring music with me.
