On stage, Julia Read conjures a singularly captivating, subversively calm and dangerous magic. On her debut album, Go On Go, she sings of monsters and witches, of the bones of visibility and invisibility, of bodily presence and absence. Julia Read’s arresting music creates a state of tension between internal experience and the external world. When she takes the stage, we are drawn into this perilous place, beguiled  by both its privacy and exposure.
