Inner Symphony is introducing “Quintessence Vol. 2 Remix Edition” - showcasing fresh cuts of the label’s “Quintessence Vol. 2” release earlier this year. Building on the themes of the initial release, the Remix Edition adds new, darker layers and a fresh perspective on the tracks. 

The release begins with a Claws SG remix of Ceas’ “Mio”, taking the melodic themes of the original and placing them into a more percussive soundscape. The track ends with a dynamic finale setting the tone of the EP. James Marley’s remix of “Mimas” by Hushkin follows, a steady ethereal track that blends smoothly into the next song - a remix of his own track “Night Walk” done by Rustboy. Here Rustboy takes the contemplative nature of the original track and gives it a softer, more cinematic feel. The fourth track, Hushkin’s “Goliath”, remixed by Soul Button, is a super-smooth cut that can seamlessly ease you into any mood. Soul Button’s own track “Meridian” is then remixed by Alex Rusin, who gives the melancholic original a more ethereal touch. The release closes off with “Odin” by Hells Kitchen & Anders., remixed by Mashk. This detailed track invites multiple listens, and builds steadily, taking the mood from the previous track and pulling us forward to end the release on a contemplative note.

This release is a compelling showcase of some of Inner Symphony’s most dynamic artists, and offers a great complement to the original.

‘Anomaly’ is this year’s full-length release by Steyoyoke, presenting familiar roster artists as well as industry newcomers. A close collaboration between some of the most talented producers on the label. Anomaly will be split in two parts with two separate releases. Part one features the label’s lighter, ethereal signature sound and Part two will showcase the darker, more traditional techno. 

Kicking off Anomaly (Part 1) are Soul Button & Modeplex with their track, ‘Ardor’. It has a strong beginning that builds steadily to a wide, misty soundscape, feeling both peaceful and motivating. 

It then pulls back to a more minimal, rhythm-driven ending that sets the tone for the next track, ‘Dome’ by Ceas. Here Ceas uses a melody to take the listener into a suspended space, caught between tension and release. The track develops with subtle changes in bass and percussion, whilst tying each section together with a consistent theme.

The third track, ‘Catharsis’ by Clawz SG & Soul Button, introduces layers of smoother tones, echoing to give a sense of mystery and wonder. There is a softness to this track combines with hints of darkness to make a compelling number. 

Clawz SG continues with ‘Esperanza’, making a statement with a beginning focused on unusual, earthy percussion. Hypnotic synths build steadily before the track erupts into a powerful, stadium-worthy finale. 

The final appearance of Clawz SG on the album is ‘Lost Signal’, co-written by Ceas. Layers of syncopation set this track apart as a stand-out with its distinct energy and rhythm, while a delicate transitional section places this in the space between ethereal and traditional techno.

Booka Shade welcome Italian live act Pôngo to Blaufield this February as the duo make their debut appearance on the label with ‘So Many Words’. 
Based in Pisa, Italian production partners and brothers Giovanni and Daniele Bruni aka Pôngo have quickly become rising names of note, balancing both vibrant DJ sets with expansive, refined live performances across Europe and beyond. Following releases on Stereo MC’s London based imprint Connected, finding key support from artists including Solomun, Joris Voorn and Kölsch, the duo now turns their attention to a debut outing on Booka Shade’s Blaufield to open 2019, with three dynamic cuts in forming their ‘So Many Words’ EP. Title track ‘So Many Words’ opens proceedings as the duo combine crisp percussion shots, trademark vocals and pulsating bassline patterns to great effect, before ‘Strong’ builds around further infectious vocals with powerful synth builds and rich yet icy tones. From the subtle baroque breezes and gentle raindrops-on-window melodic details of Psallite to the catlike bassline that stalks between the shadows of the pads and eerie arpeggios of Sibylle, this doesn't so much as ease you into the rest of the new year softly but, for a combined 15 minutes, takes you to a new year on a new planet. Australian duo Arm In Arm return to Blaufield Music in late March to reveal their latest single ‘Hunger For Your Vibe’, accompanied by a remix from Stil Vor Talent favourites Moonwalk.

Melbourne based duo Arm In Arm aka Eliza Jacobs and Luke Moore-Martin emerged onto the worldwide scene last year after being discovered by Booka Shade, revealing their debut single ‘Nightfly’ on Blaufield Music in September accompanied by a remix from the label bosses themselves. Having received a wealth of support from a host of international names, reaching #3 in Beatport’s Melodic House & Techno release chart in the process, the duo now return with their latest single ‘Hunger For Your Vibe’ ahead of their two forthcoming support dates as part of Booka Shade’s 2019 AUS & NZ Tour, describing the track’s core influence as ‘the feeling about something or someone that draws you in’.

Gunther Robles hails from Mexico City where he played at the best clubs, sharing decks with Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, Satoshi Tomiie, Nic Fanciulli, James Holden, Dave Seaman, Silicone Soul, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, & Danny Howells, to name a few. Eventually, he played around the world in Berlin, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, & Tel Aviv at venues such as Burg Schnabel, Sankeys, Eden, Es Paradis, Panama Club, and City Hall. Since 2013, Gunther is based in Ibiza with residencies at Coco Beach Club, Jockey Club and Villa Mercedes (Mambo Group) and he boasts releases on labels such as Push Push Music, Natural Rhythm, and Bonzai.

For the remix of Dark Prince, we looked for a common connection which led us to Neftali Blasko, an established dj and producer, also from Mexico. Neftali stands for deep sounds focused on the dancefloor and that’s what he delivers. He’s played in many of the top clubs in Mexico, South America, and Europe. With productions on labels such as Sounds Of Earth, One Of A Kind, Mirabilis, Stripped, Balkan Connection, and Yin, Neftali also hosts his own monthly show on FriskyRadio called Deep District, and is a key member of the Sounds of Earth Agency.

The second remix comes from Balad, who turned Oxe into a totally different direction. Lovely mesmerizing vocals glide over a never-ending melody. When it is accompanied by a smooth bassline and a warm ethereal pad, the dream is complete. Just at the moment when you can't drift further away from reality, he lets the bassline growl making them work in perfect symbiosis with a spacy brass. Kevin Huizing AKA Budakid is a Berlin based music producer/dj. Coming from a very musical family, it was only a matter of time before young Budakid started playing an instrument of his own. As a drummer in a drum ensemble, the soon-to-be producer/dj got his first taste of beats and he wanted more. Having a good sense of rhythm helped him as a fledgling dj. Before long, Budakid landed his first residency in one of Utrecht’s most popular clubs. Although he wasn’t of legal age, several clubs asked him to perform and Budakid showed his promise by measuring up to peers twice his age.

But as it happens with a lot of dj’s, only dj’ing wasn’t enough for his own musical output. So Budakid sought out to prove his worth as a self-taught producer. Influenced by the likes of Joris Voorn, Stimming, Trentemøller and acts such as Massive Attack, Radiohead and Caribou, the Dutchman developed a very melodic style of his own. A typical Budakid song has floating melodies, the right set of chords and some strong, energetic vibes all mashed together. All this made him a crowd favorite at festivals like Tomorrowland, Fusion Festival, Sonar Festival, Feel Festival, Amsterdam Dance Event and SonneMondSterne and clubs such as Katerblau (DE), Sissyphos (DE), Watergate (DE), Cafe D’anvers (BE), Thuishaven (NL) and Melkweg (NL).

His music has been already supported by heavyweights such as Sasha, Joris Voorn, Guy J, Kölsch and Deadmau5. That’s something that didn’t happen overnight. Budakid’s tracks have been released on respected labels like Einmusika, Last Night On Earth, All Day I Dream, Get Physical and Audiomatique. Well-known blogs and magazines including Deep House Amsterdam, FAZE Magazine and VICE’s Thump are very enthusiastic about the producer’s tracks. So it’s safe to say Budakid isn’t just another kid on the block. Already regarded as a more than reliable producer/dj by his peers, nothing stands in the way of Budakid to become one of the greats.
