DJ Rascal ... A Living Legend ♔

DJ Rascal was one of the most emblematic DJ's of his generation and one of the most successful technically in France during the closing decades of the 20th Century. In 1988 he became Luxembourg Champion and Vice European champion next year in 1989, and then participated in the DMC technical Championship French final for the world championships no fewer than 10 times between 1988 and 2000. 
He was also a pioneer in many areas of DJing.  He invented the concept of "boys band turntablism" - team 
scratching concept - in 1990 with a first show at the Hourtin military base (France) a full year before the first appearance of Q-Bert in a U.S. TV show in 1991. Though Q-bert is remembered as the inventor of that style, he is not and it is time to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's. 

DJ Rascal was also one of the first to self-produce an After Hip-Hop & New Jack mixtape on Cd in 1997-98.  Up until then  K7 had been the dominant format employed.  The production of a 24 minute mix After 
Hip-Hop composed solely of breakbeats, intros, interludes and scratching helped to bring a unique 
atmosphere to the scene at that time. 

But above all, his greatest strength is his ability to adapt to any type of music programming as well as 
animation shows.  His 40 years of experience spinning in clubs, with and without micro-animation, combined with his sharp festive programming, and impeccable technique, make of him a complete DJ able to play any style – House, Techno, Lounge, Chillout, Acid Jazz, Soul, Funk, Disco, Rap / Hip-Hop, R'n'B, French or international variety, etc.   

It  would take too much space here to review the career of DJ Rascal in full, but if we were to summarize a few highlights, then we would certainly keep in mind the hundreds of scratch demonstration shows, concerts, entertainment & nightlife clubs in France, Belgium, Luxembourg , Spain, Switzerland, etc. There were also countless radio and TV shows, not to mention that he was one  of the pioneers of Hip-Hop and DJing in the late 80's along with DJs such as DJ Dee-Nasty.  He helped democratize Hip-Hop and the art of DJing in France with MC’s including Destroy Man and Johnny Go, Lionel D, as well as others too numerous to name. 
He is considered as one of the most respected DJ's of his time. 

Still, his story is not finished ...

Native Belgium DJ, PatriZe always he knew music would be part of his life. At a young age he bought his first turntables and and quickly grew into the harder sound of Trance and Techno. Over time, his passion grew into the melodic and intelligent sounds of Progressive House. 
After years of playing throughout the Belgian scene, his breakthrough was in 2010 with Pole Folder of Bedrock Records / Rework, along with winning the respected NightMuseum DJ competition, warming up for progressive luminary, Guy J.
PatriZe's devotion to hone his craft, has earned him a reputation of seamless transitions, track selection, melodic layers with a touch of tech undertones. Currently PatriZe resides in Thailand where he broadcasts his renowned Foundations and After Hours Series with guest appearances on several global radio shows.
In April 2015 he started his own label AH Digital with his "partner in crime" Hypnotised and his producing career followed quickly.
And it started off well, all the 2015 releases of Hypnotised & PatriZe reached the Beatport Progressive House top 100 releases. Their first EP, “People from the Otherworld” even topped this chart at no. 4 and also reached the top 20 of the Techno and Tech House release charts. It was then also a great honor for them that nr. 1 selling artist Rui Da Silva remixed the title track of their popular EP.

Alberto Blanco was born in the city of La Plata, Argentina. At the beginning of the new millennium his main influences were
Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Sasha, Steve Lawler, Dave Seaman, Timo Maas, Danny Howells among other great leaders of the electronic
music scene. His interests and path towards his destiny began to define themselves in 2006 which lead him to roots of electronic music when
he moved to Ibiza where he began his career as a formal DJ participating in various private events, clubs like Heaven, El Ayoun,
Es Paradis and local radios worldwide known as Ibiza Global Radio, first hand the legendary Joan Ribas and then at
Ibiza Sonica Radio residency thanks to Igor Marijuan on his radio show 'Club Ibiza'. In its continued growth achieves residence
Famous Boat Party 'Sea Suan', where his deep sessions are received in the best way for a picky criticism but, above all,
complimentary.
These achievements allow him to return to Argentina and participate in a mini tour of the Atlantic coast in presentations of the 'Expression's'
in Emme Club, Sobremonte Disco in the series 'Made In Ibiza' La Princesa Bar, and Villa Gesell at the renowned Chauen Bar. All of these 
combined appearances allowed him to show his versatility in a wide range of house genres.
2011 was the time for a new and very important step for Alberto as he moved to Barcelona to pursue the new path of music production 
where he relies on his remarkable ability to combine sounds, genres and styles and starts producing with Graziano Raffa,
and along with Hernan Cattaneo's support of their productions, not only on his radio show "Resident," but also in the largest international 
clubs, they signed their first EP with Norman H’s distinguished label, Stripped Records (UK). During this time, Alberto meets and begins 
producing with Matias Vila remaining finalists Remix Contest '' dPen - Vasanizome '' released in the important Belgian label Sound Avenue.
His performances in Barcelona in venues such as BLVD Barcelona, Slow Club just no name a few were multiplied.
As we can see 2012 was a year of successes, where at the end of the year it is again in the city of Mar del Plata.
In early 2013 starts with new projects, now together with Marcelo Paladini forming a duo that genre optimal
responses from great DJs and producers worldwide such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Robert Babicz, Nick Varon,
to name a few, remixing artists like Guy J, Alex Niggemann and Oxia, and editing labels like Agara Music, 3rd Avenue and
Balkan Connection. His continuous performances in the cycle Master Series was an excellent response from the local public demanding, 
sharing the decks with: Silicone Soul, Sahar Z, Nick Varon, Stelios Vassiloudis, Graziano Raffa Andrea Cassino, dPen, Nikko.Z and 
Darin Epsilon to name a few, in the best clubs, GAP Disco, Pueblo Limite (Villa Gesell), Diamond Club, Blue Disco, Sethai and Biologia Club.
As we can be seen constant growth and evolution to throughout the years, predicts Alberto a great start to 2015 with more exciting
projects, not only as a DJ and as a producer as well.
