“The relationship between Pulshar and Rod Modell goes back to 2008, when Echospace (Rod & Stephen Hitchell) remixed Nospheratu, a track included in the album Brotherhood (Phonobox, 2008).

This release would go on to foster a friendship that went beyond just music. When Rod travelled to Barcelona, he’d always catch up with Pablo and Sergio to chat and walk around the Raval, making the obligatory stop in Bismilla Kebabish of Joaquín Costa. During these visits, the idea to work on more than just remixes together came up. The collaboration birthed Undercover, a conceptual EP of 5 tracks (digital release) and 3 on vinyl. One song, 5 covers.

Undercover speaks to sound’s affect on emotions. Like waves in the ocean, each unique track comes from the same source. From the strongest and most powerful waves of a storm to the quiet and gentle tides, this is forty-seven minutes of pure pleasure. The feeling of this release is abyssal, dark and very organic, and it takes you on a very special underwater journey aboard Verne´s “Nautilus.”

"They loop in your head forever: Pulshar are back. Since 2015 the way Pablo Bolivar and Sergio Sainz Vidal aka Aphro produce their music changed , as Sergio moved to New York and Pablo is living in Barcelona. As both know each-others heartbeat supremely, the results stay even in distance as deep as before. For their latest EP “Mask” they arranged two tracks full of dark dusty sounds, haunting dub atmospheres and eerie vocals. A record, that somehow feels like their start back in 2007, when their first Mini-LP “Babylon Fall Collection” saw the light of the day to cause a global stir. And somehow the obstreperous nature of nature can be detected in their new music, too. A note, that is originated somehow in Sergio’s experiences during the devastating hurricanes in Puerto Rico in September 2017. The power of nature overwhelmed him deeply and he enrolled his emotions into a dusty flair that covers the two original tunes. He also video-taped the storms and used the footage for the video on “Abby”, the haunting main track of this release. In comparison, the second arrangement “Forever Is Not” grooves more laidback, serves a certain dense fourth-world-ambient spirit and spreads dubby conqueror notes. Besides original material, the EP brings two remixes. One by San Francisco based electronic producer Federsen, who transforms “Abby” into a dub techno tune that circles in his very own psychedelic realm. The second edit comes from Mathimidori, also known as Mathias Kaden. The German DJ and producer injects “Forever Is Not” a funky bass line, that works catchy and functions as the roots for a feverish tripping dub techno seducer. Four tunes, four galaxies. They will work heavy on any top-notch sound system. And hunt even deeper when checked via a sensible headphone."

Julian Perez developed his love for electronic music during the early 90s, heavily influenced by the House and Techno music coming out of the US, UK, and Northwestern Europe’s techno, EBM, and New Beat. He has established himself as a unique and diverse DJ known for his dedication, discernment, respect, and patience.

In 2010, Julian released his first record, which marked the beginning of his successful music career. He then went on to launch his own label, "Fathers & Sons Productions" in 2012. The label, which focuses on vinyl-only releases, provided Julian with a platform to showcase his sound worldwide. With label showcases in over twelve different countries in the first year and a solid catalog of output, the label quickly gained international recognition and support from some of the most respected artists in the scene. In addition to releasing music on his own labels, he also released music on other respected labels such as Cocoon Recordings, Raum..Musik, and Subwax Bcn among others, further solidifying his reputation as a talented producer and tastemaker. This diverse range of releases showcases, his versatility as an artist and his ability to adapt to different styles and sounds.

To date, every release on his labels has sold out in the first days of sales, which serves as a testament to Julian's impeccable taste in House and Techno production, as well as his ability to spot new and interesting artists. This level of success demonstrates Julian's ability to consistently produce high-quality music, maintain a strong fan base, and stay relevant in the ever-changing electronic music scene.

Fathers & Sons Productions number twelve closed a significant chapter with the release of his first solo album, "Solemnity" in 2016. This 2x12" vinyl release showcased Julian's attention to detail and the evolution of his style, providing a window into the artist's dedication to his craft and his ability to create honest, authentic sound. After taking a much-needed break, Julian is now bringing the label back with a fresh sound and concept, infused with all the energy, inspiration, and knowledge he has gained during his time away. This next chapter starts in 2023, and it’s sure to be a continuation of the label's success and cement Julian's reputation as one of the top-notch label’s head honchos.

Julian launched his very own project, "Girada Unlimited" in 2017, which quickly gained the attention of true music enthusiasts and collectors, known as “Crate diggers." This vinyl-only label was heavily supported from its inception, even before the public knew who was behind it. The label’s tenth release was Julian's second album, "Break-Even" which was released in 2021 after a series of successful records by Julian and other producers. The label continues to deliver quality releases to this day, which keeps evolving in various directions as Julian's vision and surprising his crowd every time.

Throughout his career, Julian has acquired an impressive international reputation, playing at some of the most relevant festivals such as Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), Outline in Moscow, Sunwaves in Romania, Epizode in Vietnam, BPM Festival in Mexico, and hosting his own events during Sonar Week in Barcelona, Kazantip Festival in Crimea, and Winter Music Conference in Miami. He has also played at some of the finest underground parties and essential clubs worldwide such as Rex in Paris, Fabric in London, Womb in Tokyo, Robert Johnson in Offenbach, and numerous mythical clubs in frequently.
Julian has also been a regular at Underground Ibiza club, hosting his own nights over the summer season. He has also been frequently invited to Richie Hawtin's ENTER. at Space and Sven Vath's Cocoon Ibiza, among others.
He was nominated as Best Breakthrough Artist in 2012, Best DJ of 2013 by Vicious Music Awards, and Best Newcomer category by DJ Awards in 2016.
2025 is loaded with new projects, records, and stand-out performances. The best way to experience Julian's artistry is to see him live on the dancefloor, where he displays his technical skill, and record selection on his own world behind the decks.
