Julie originally from Dudley UK, a seasoned Mancunian vocal performance artist, producer, writer, and composer has spent several years perfecting her in-perfected craft of alternative sounds to a world audience.



Her background is soul, jazz, and gospel, and she has used her experiences in live performance to produce an outstanding collection of music, with influences from EDM, drum and bass, infused with soulful house. Her musical history stems from collaborations with bands across the UK as well as international collaborations.



1996 – 2010 1996 - Grand Central Fat City – Featured on 1st LP Grand Central. In 2011, Julie also toured again with Happy Mondays singer Shaun Ryder with his band SWR. Julie E Gordon first fronted her own band including Myke Wilson previously of Swing Out Sister on drums, keyboards player Paul Ashton, Italian guitarist Paolo Fuschi from Italy and Dave Luvin from Kansas USA on bass.



Work continues as a solo artist working with writer/producer Paul Wilkinson; and as a featured artist on tracks with major European DJ/Producers, In addition, Julie has since, collaborated with several producers outside the UK - Zamali / Jayl Funk/ Destjil providing guest vocals to the EP Deep Inside, which has seen a success in the Soul/Funk scene. Julie has not only permitted herself to Soul & Funk, she has worked and co-produced the yet to be released track BE AGAIN with the North West acclaimed producers BACKDRAFT aka LAB2.



CAULBEARERS where she has contributed to writing and performing on their EP MORE LIE DEEP, and released single HOLLOW BONES with label Jack to Phono. She has debuted her Album with Pascal Destjil " Julie Gordon & The Digital Orchestra." Most recent addition to her list of collaborations is with up and coming Manchester Funk Band NGUVU.



Julie has been featured in Manchester's Viva Magazine(2012 edition), Manchester Gossip(2011 edition), Afro Boogee (2012 Edition), she has been accredited with great reviews in the music scene from BBC 6 Music (Versus Cancer, The Guardian, Billboard, Manchester Evening News, Express & Star- Performing for several charity projects including Versus Cancer, Sickle Cell Anaemia, British Heart Foundation, Salford Music Festival,Future Perfect Festivals. She has never failed to deliver outstanding live performances. In recent years, Julie has toured the world alongside the Happy Mondays as a Co-Vocalist. Julie honed her craft as leading songstress alongside Shaun Ryder and is now pursuing her solo career. Standing with the great soul divas, Julie has a rare gift, blending gospel, jazz and blues to work her magic. 
Weaving soul tingling vocals, with spellbinding harmonies and infectious melodies, Julie delivers a stunning live acoustic performance.

Her own work has received air play on Jazz Fm/BBC Manchester/All FM/XFM/UNITY RADIO and was voted the most promising vocalist by Giles Peterson. Julie has since recorded tracks with labels, Grand Central, Giant Step Records, and Sanctuary Records. 
She has worked with producer Sunny Levine, on the Happy Mondays album ’Uncle Dysfunctional – an album that has allowed to show off her skills as a passionate and powerful vocalist .

Julie is currently working as a Lead  Vocalist and writer with the Groove Orchestra Caulbearers. She has shared several collaborations with French Outfit Destjil and has recently released the single "Superstar" under her new formed band Julie Gordon & The Digital Orchestra. Superstar has been released through record label King Prawn Records. Julie continues to develop her unique style as a versatile Vocalist and is highly respected throughout Manchester and beyond. 

Her incredible vocal range, we would say, is liken to silk, woven through warm melodies and dark under currents that convey a majestic presence.- She is the life blood of a vibrant and innovative being that rediscovers the missing era of Black British Soul Music. 
Spacek, Liz Fields, Kindred Family Soul, Amp Fiddler and many others who respectfully Julie is inspired by; have created a vibe, a vision in music, which hand in hand offers listeners unique and mastered melodies, in which she crafts through her production. Julie has played a crucial part in Manchester’s underground music scene, and has elegantly crossed into mainstream and kept a noted respect for the underground industry. Julie’s infectious and powerful stage presence has sparked much debate for Manchester’s ‘finest’ Powerhouse.
