The title HOPE is carried by an emotional Bulgarian choir. A soundtrack of hope, uplifting and poignant. Oriental sounds meet the intense voices of the Balkans.

Jupiter Melodies carries us out into a mental free space with the subtle sounds of acoustic and electronic instruments such as violins, cello, santur, Oberheim 8, Polymoog and CS-80. The open ambient, downbeat and partly like film music compositions with nuanced modulations and harmonic tone sequences are like the surface of Jupiter pure atmosphere, without clear demarcation but with a solid, clear core.

Our breakthrough album has finally been pressed on vinyl.

Ape to Angel took the momentum of our preceding albums to new levels, with the sound becoming fuller and the bass more driving. We tweaked the sounds of club culture around the dub heart of the album, blending sinuous bass lines, simmering rhythms and echoing acidic synths to electrifying effect. We also wrote our first fully vocal song, “Elements Turn”, with veteran singer Sandy Mill, and sampled Estonian satellite transmissions for “Lost in Translation”.

Originally unleashed in New Zealand in October 2004 by Kog Transmissions, the album’s infectious rhythms weaved their way round the world, finding fans from Copenhagen to Cape Town, and securing release in North America by the esteemed Waveform label, Europe by Dubmission and Japan by the cult Wakyo imprint.

Critically acclaimed, with DJ Mag awarding it five stars, the release of Ape to Angel led to a 42 date tour round the world which included our North American debut. Tracks from the album were also picked up for use in CSI: Miami and HBO¹s True Blood, the latter featuring “Freefall" in a vampire orgy scene - perfect.

To create the double-vinyl release, Angus McNaughton re-mastered the original audio files, and Hamish Macaulay adapted the source artwork by Shane Cotton and created a brand new collage for the centrefold using pictures taken at the time. There is also an additional track, Protect The Grain, which was originally only available on the limited edition Flex EP, recorded just before the Ape sessions began.

So I’ve had this idea for years, and finally, it's coming to life, thru a release on Touched Music. I wanted to do something bigger with my musical power for a good cause. I have an amazing network of musical friends, and almost everybody I asked to get involved said yes. I just want to make a statement, we all have the power to do something good in this world, just think about it what it is for yourself and think of ways to make it happen.

3 years ago I adopted a Rottweiler from the shelter, he was in the shelter for 2 years. From all the dogs I took walks with I connected the most with him. And although he is a handful, I love him more than anything in the world. And it opened up my eyes even wider how I connect with them, mostly better than with humans.

I just love animals and dogs in particular. It was clear I wanted to pick a charity that helps dogs, nothing grabs me more by the throat than the horrific situation for dogs in the dog meat trade in Asia. I supported the soi dog foundation a couple of times already so this was a logical choice to focus on them. They do amazing stuff in the whole of Asia.

Mission Statement of soi dog: 
To improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Asia, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities, to create a society without homeless animals, and to ultimately end animal cruelty.
