The journey of life is full of twists and turns, but never doubt you will end up right where you are supposed to be. Joël Nicolas has learned this first hand. The French singer-songwriter began listening to rock music during his teenage years. Enamored with the genre he soon began to join several local bands while in high school after he started picking up the guitar. He became a student of music on the technical side, constantly learning about the art of composition and theory. When he attended the Social Club on a night out, he soon discovered the world of electronic music through the artist Danger. It was at that moment IM JUST LIKE YOU was born.

    For the next decade, he honed his skills across the country, adapting his natural skills to a digital platform. He learned new genres in and out and began to get a feel for the electronic genre. He favored a deep-house vibe that balance crisp, organic sounds with digitized, synthetic ones that showed the inherent balance that exists in life. From an up-and-coming rock-n-roller, IM JUST LIKE YOU had become a successful DJ, a period that culminated in his debut single, "A Matt Picture," in 2018. Two EPs later and some successful follow-up singles in 2020 like "Outside" and fan-favorite "Coloris," he has proven to be one of the brightest minds in French music with an upside that has yet to be fully shown to the public. That is all set to change in 2021!
