Shy Margiela is a DJ and nightlife curator in the South. Based in Houston, Texas, he’s become a rising force in the city’s queer rave and nightlife scene, where he’ known for sets that blend raunchy tracks with hypnotic bass heavy rhythms.

Born in the Rio Grande Valley, Shy draws heavily from his border upbringing where Latin rhythms are interwoven with cross-border club sounds. His selections dive into the high-BPM terrain of Latincore, Hardgroove, Techno, and Southern Club, all interwoven with sensuality, high-energy, and experimentation.

Through his party series “Hard Drive” and residency with Houston collectives, “Club Shugga” and “Kore”, Shy is carving out space for visibility, inclusion, and community on Southern dance floors. His mixes challenge the crowd to welcome sounds that are unfamiliar by releasing anxieties and becoming one with the music.
