Country blues, folk, and voodoograss project out of Portland, Oregon, USA.

Holy Smokes & The Godforsaken Rollers are an American multi-instrumentalist duo providing a spaghetti western, country blues & bluegrass arrangement. They call their style voodoograss, and their roots and hearts are with country blues, playing old time porch music with a modern spin! 

The guys recently added a South African percussionist to the fold, who adds tasteful rhythms and grooves, playing a Cajon and other interesting shakers, bells and chimes. 

As true songwriters, the trio creates a driving, passionate, and soulful sound. All of their songs have a deeper meaning and truth, progressing with interesting time changes and breaks, to provide a body shaking groove!

The sounds provided below are from earlier recordings. Johnny is currently self-producing the second album for the group here in Africa in order to capture the ever-growing sound of this young band.

Bitches of the Sun is Portland based collective fronted by artist/musician Joshua Davis. The group describes their sound as Delta Sex Pop
delivering a body shaking groove with head scratching arrangements.

Joshua arrived to Portland, Oregon in 2014 and was immediately drawn to the Pacific Northwest. As a working jazz artist from Chicago, he fell in love with the contrast and natural beauty of his new surrounding environment. Over the last few years he has collaborated with various artists in the local jazz & blues scene, that have become the foundation for this collective. 

The goal of Bitches of the Sun is to create an ever-expanding collective of creatives throughout the Northwest in all mediums.
