Born an only child to two Trinidadian teachers, Javid Sameer Ali initially struggled to communicate their various abilities and interests to the world; as a queer trans singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, they've integrated their myriad of talents and redefined being a rockstar in the information age, all from their bedroom in Sangre Grande. Since their debut in 2018, their work has combined a digitally-corrupted punk ethos with a futuristic alternative-pop sensibility, resembling a modern take on Linkin Park's original eclecticism. It is the sound of javid trying to do something good while hurtling headfirst into the unknown - javid's work continuously aims to ponder the universal nature of being and transience while peering deeper into their own personal shadow.
