Somsay is a Canadian drum & bass DJ/producer bringing high-energy sets and deep, rolling vibes to the dancefloor. Affiliated with Top G Records (UK), Hardsteppers Crew, Ethikal MTL, and his own label, High Land Music, he blends liquid grooves, jungle rhythms, and heavy hitters into one unstoppable flow.

🎧 I don’t just play tracks — I build sonic stories.
Every mix starts slow, breathes, grows, and peaks.
Genres are colours. BPM is my brush.
I blend, layer, and shape — painting mood with every transition.
 

I’m an open-format DJ and musician from Estonia, 52 years old. Classically trained as a pianist, music shaped my way of thinking long before it became a profession. I stepped behind the decks back in the 1980s — playing wherever sound and curiosity could meet: schools, clubs, private spaces. Those years formed my instincts, my sense of timing, and my respect for the journey a set can take.

When I returned to the scene years later, it felt natural — as if the music had simply been waiting. I play live, guided by emotion, flow, and the subtle dialogue between tracks. I move freely across decades, blending music from the 1970s with today’s releases just as confidently, letting contrasts create tension and harmony.

Behind every radio show and mix lies careful preparation. I shape each one deliberately — selecting, balancing, and sequencing tracks to tell a story, to build atmosphere, release, and reflection. For me, a mix is not just a collection of tracks, but a moment in time, shaped by experience, memory, and feeling.

I’m currently a resident DJ at Data Transmission, Radio DJSLINE, and Ibiza Stardust Radio.

Biography - I've been collecting music from the age of 9, mainly HipHop & Reggae. Inspired by my cousin's Turntablism skills I started DJing from the age of 13 (1992) I learnt to mix, cut & scratch to a high standard, then started playing in clubs from 1995. Over the years I've collected & played out styles such as Drum & Bass, 2Step/UK Garage, House, Reggae, R&B/HipHop, DubStep & Chart, pretty much everything! I am currently a resident DJ for the legendary SoulTrain & also play for various other nights. I am also a producer, I work on various music styles & I am currently in the process of setting up a record label called Cracked Records (Coming Soon!) Below is a link to my Facebook page.
