Multitalented producer, Donovan Iregi Miller, more popularly known as Ital is offering food for thought for music lovers with his debut single, Give Thanks and Praise. 

Ital, known as the brainchild behind the revered music website, Jamrock Vybz, has produced singles for some of reggae music’s most instrumental figures such as Sizzla Kalonji, Luciano, Perfect Giddimani and Lutan Fyah, among many others.

Now, he is looking to showcase his lifelong passion for music through his own vocals with his first single, partly inspired by the much-publicized killing of Eric Garner, among other events that truly make us take into account how precious our lives are and why we must not take for granted what the Most High has given us.

The right blend of vocals and instrumentals is noticeable throughout this track as Ital, who’s sound is inspired by the likes of Jacob ‘Killer’ Miller, Black Uhuru, Prince Alla and Tenor Saw, among others belts out thought-provoking lyrics to a beat filled with bits of powerful trumpet plays and a solid bassline. This song spreads a powerful message that we must ‘trample the beast,’ so ‘Babylon get defeat’ while reaffirming that ‘This Armagiddeon is a revolution, my people hold firm and strong.’”

This song showcases Ital’s undying love and reverence for His Imperial Majesty; making it relatable to those who share such a bond with the creator. It also puts into perspective what the priorities in life are and should be as we continue to trod on in times of uncertainty and injustice that plague our society daily.

Give Thanks and Praise is produced by Jamrock Vybz Records in collaboration with Ted Ganung’s Ted Dun Know Productions recording label. 

Ganung’s guitar, keys and bass can be heard throughout the hard-hitting beat on this track, while Atsushi Ouchi features on the saxophone and Matt Giella on the trumpet; with background vocals from Nikki Burt, who has worked with the likes of Tarrus Riley and Alborosie. The track was mastered at Mac Les Music Factory in Belgium.

"My favorite set that we played this year at Burning Man was at Robot Heart. It was probably the only set that I really prepared for with Walshy Fire.

I'll be honest I was a lil nervous because I really wanted to make it run with energy for the full two hours and our typical audience isn't that used to a classic dub and reggae set. Myself and the whole RH crew wanted to create something really special for a sunset party and keep it true to the theme but to still feel like a Robot Heart set. The Robot Heart crew had told me that they wanted and entire set that sounded like "Major Lazer - Get Free" and I had to think hard about it. To keep the vibe going for two hours and for that record to be the climax was a challenge but I realized if you stick to your guns for the whole party and steer the audience in a direction and keep them with you, then anything is possible.  I hope you love it.. It's perfect for a party on a Sunday afternoon and represents a different side of Major Lazer"

This month Carhartt WIP Radio welcomes ZamZam Sounds - Portland Oregon's very own dub and beyond label. Formed in 2012 by Ezra Ereckson and Tracy Harrison, ZamZam's approach is more artistic than commercial, releasing only on 7 inch vinyl, in limited quantities. Soundwise ZamZam delivers the freshest and weirdest takes on roots Reggae, steppas, and dub-tech from around the globe. Each record is packaged with a hand-made customized screen-printed artwork that makes it unique beyond the music, too. ZamZam Sounds manager Ezra aka E3 and DJ and producer Alter Echo, mixed a show with upcoming ZamZams, in celebration of their third release on the label which is out now. Included are also dubplates from ZamZam Sounds’ companion label Khaliphonic, that releases longer format vinyl as 10inch and 12inch. Furthermore you hear stuff from their befriended Brooklyn based label Feel Up Records, totally fresh E3 material that will be released on Boomarm Nation soon, and a Monkeytek VIP.
