The night follows on from the highly successful first edition of Elevate back in February with heavyweights Friction and Zinc this time joined Shogun favourites Technimatic and fast rising stars Emperor and Skankandbass who will help curate this bass fuelled occasion.

Welcome to the first instalment of my ’20 Years a Kid’ mixtape series! This first mix covers the years from 1996 to 1998 when I first started DJing in Sydney (and long before most people in Australia had ever heard of me). This first mix captures some of the tracks I was playing back then: hip hop, big beat, and early breaks. 'Breaks' wasn't actually a genre yet in 1996 and you had to dig pretty hard (at your local record store) to find a good breakbeat sounding record. But that's what made it so exciting, the 'discovery'. I'm sure there's a tonne of tunes I've forgotten on here (and there were some I left off as they didn't quite work in the mix) but the essence of what I did back then is here, including the last track 'Papua New Guinea' which I'd drop last EVERY time I DJ'd.

Rooted in a friendship formed in 2004, foi oi oi and What the Bleep are tag team partners hailing from Ohio. "Ragga jungle" is the most accurate label used to describe what they play – as they are junglists that lean toward reggae-influenced styles – but they truthfully are not bound by any specific genre. Instead, their focus is on a positive bass music experience with undertones of ragga and dubwise. Their mindfulness of a dancefloor’s needs is reflected in their diverse selection of drum & bass, juke, footwork, roots dubstep, dub reggae, dancehall, and more.

As their individual musical tastes matured over the years, their duo performance evolved into something much greater than the sum of the parts. Recently they released another iteration of their widely-popular annual mixtape in honor of their Detroit Electronic Music Festival tradition. Each year they attend the festival, perform at afterparties, and spread their junglist sound as "brothers". This year’s CD release took on a new greatly-refined form, fluidly transitioning through a surprising multiplicity of sound: "Feelings for Detroit Vol. 6: Water Sound". And in July 2012, to open the floodgates for new ears to experience a refreshing bass music experience, they are embarking on a CD-release East Coast mini-tour: "foi oi oi & What the Bleep’s Water Sound Voyage".

This multi-cultural Junglist has been dj-ing and promoting D&B/Jungle/Breakcore since 2001 at his residencies, raves and venues across Europe. He got interested in audio production in 2006, which led to releasing on a couple of compilations and performing as a live act in 2007, using his laptop and some controllers. 

Since 2010, he runs and co-owns two small Ragga-Jungle vinyl labels: 
Lickshot Recordings with Bong Selecta- a ragga-jungle label focussing on vibey yard music, and Bomba Cut Recordings with Stivs- a junglecore label dedicated to make hardcore mashed up ragga-jungle.

He also performs and produces with partner in crime Rob Raider, under the alias VRS. By syncing up their gear, they aim to create cutting edge dance music influenced by d'n'b/jungle/breakcore/dubstep and much more- breaking all boundaries. 

On stage, you can expect an exclusive mashup of unreleased dubs when playing live or banging and tight dj-sets when bringing out his vinyl collection.
