This soulful roots reggae release hosts 8 tracks featuring veteran artists, Akae Beka (Vaughn Benjamin of Midnite), Pressure, Lutan Fyah, Jahdan Blakkamoore and Danny I, amongst up and coming greats Randy Valentine and Vanessa Bongo. Blood Money is the latest release from Jamaican Reggae singer Protoje. The song lyrics provide hard-hitting, raw and unapologetic commentary on the current state of Jamaica, touching on recent grievances and social injustices that have afflicted Jamaican society. Protoje describes the air of discrimination, classism, and oppression prevalent in the Jamaican political landscape, calling out corrupt practices, and conveys the meaningful message to his audience of awareness, activism and the need to call for change and accountability.

Junior Kelly was born Keith Morgan on September 23, 1970, the youngest of five children, and grew up in the Waltham Park area of Kingston, Jamaica. Kelly was part of a musical family; both his father and grandfather played banjo, and his mother sang at their local church. Although the family was of limited means, Kelly later recalled that the family's deep love for one another kept them going through hard times. Kelly explained that despite having frequently to do without, the family stayed happy "because we knew we had each other to lean on."
