For Trushmix 172 we got Kim Dürbeck straight outta Sandefjord Norway. The techno and jungle producer is part of the younger generation of producers from Norway, operating in the outskirts of the Oslo scene. Active producing new music and live sets.

Lush atmospherics and rowdy dance floor favourites by two of Melbourne’s finest, Millú and Pjenné. These two sonic soulmates have been busy at work channeling their predilection for ethereal 90s electronica and meditative leftfield sounds with the start of their record label, Companion. Intrigued to hear more, we got in touch to get the low-down on the new project and life in Australia, among other things. Furthermore, they found a gap in their busy timetable and laid down a beautiful mix for us, which glides from contemplative mind soothers to fist-pumping party vibes in a seamless, 70-minute transmission.

Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community: If you take yourself seriously as an artist then by definition you are a “serious artist.” Try not to let commerce depower art in your life. Music is about making art powerful in your own life. Focus on your private practice first, and then focus on making your music meaningful in the lives of others. That’s the natural way of things. Invest in the idea that your friends are special and talented and then create together. Don’t wait for others to acknowledge your work before you take yourself seriously.

Crystal Radio Show #106 May 2023 98.3 Superfly FM

Nina Simone's 'Baltimore' nu-disco edit hitmaker, New Zealand-based DJ, slow mo and nu-disco producer extraordinaire, DiCE_NZ, has collaborated with South African, Slow Mo Lounge founder, DJ and event curator, Kongisto, to present the 3rd Global collaboration mixtape for 2023. 

A UK native residing in New Zealand, DiCE_ NZ, hails from the 90s UK vinyl era. Since relocating to Auckland, he has become a regular in his new hometown, known for spinning and producing nu-disco edits, funk, soul, disco and house. As an Auckland-based DJ and producer, DiCE_ NZ has worked with New Zealand renowned musical legends like Fat Freddy's Drop and The Black Seeds, and also has a string of jazz, disco and funk edits to his name, regularly receiving airplay on BBC's Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show, MiSoul radio, as well as New Zealand stations and shows such as George FM and NZTV's The Project.

DiCE_ NZ's production credit includes Hot Gorilla Records, Hot Jandal Music, Hot-Q, Hot Digits Music, Slightly Transformed, LW Recordings, Electric Friends Music, Audaz, Too Slow To Disco and Discoholics Anonymous Recordings.

DiCE_ NZ plays the first 1h23m, and Kongisto plays the rest. Love from Diepkloof, Soweto and Auckland, New Zealand.
