You see people entering but not exiting. Also the lights are dim for some reason. You poke your head in, cough up some cash, and you’re immediately greeted by a Pharoah Sanders remix playing loud (but not too loud) on Klipschorns and La Scalas. You’ve arrived at the Rocksteady Disco night at Milagrosa Mezcaleria. Next thing you know you’re making out.”

It's always very touching to find musical testimonials. Over 20 years ago, my booking agency asked me to record this mix. In 2002, I was very inspired by the San Francisco scene. There were some great labels, DJs and artists there... What makes me happy is that I could still play 95% of those records. Time goes by too quickly, but I'm still as passionate and involved as ever. It was a great period, we played 100% vinyl, I scoured the record shops... This mix is an opportunity to look back on a past with tons of great memories.
