Having safely navigated a change of country, Citizens Of Vice is now fully settled into its new hideout. The mountain ranges of the Jura and Alps are behind us, replaced by the wild beauty of the Yorkshire Moors. But enough about scenery — let’s get back to what we do best: music. And next up...

If you caught Sean Johnston’s recent ALFOS compilation, you’ll already know the name Bal5000, whose stunning track ‘Bleu Infini’ left a lasting impression. Bal5000 has also released on esteemed labels such as Dirt Crew Recordings and Emotional Especial.

We’re now thrilled to announce his latest release, The Lake — a shimmering new cut that dives even deeper into his genre hopping sound. Alongside the title track are ‘Untitled Acid’ and ‘Untitled Electro’. As their names suggest, they explore acid and electro-infused vibes, all within the ever-evolving Citizens Of Vice sonic ethos.

On remix duties, our long-term collaborator — and one of our absolute favourites — Pete Herbert (Music For Swimming Pools) delivers not one but two stellar reworks, each infused with his unmistakable style.

In 2015, Sprechen was born in Chris Massey's spare room in Bolton. The decade since has proved that Sprechen has never been tied to one genre. Instead, it has a simple aim to serve up good music that is free of boundaries. Ein Null celebrates this journey with a collection of originals from friends, collaborators and cosmic creatives who've helped shape the label. The sounds are wonky, weird, banging and beautiful, with expansive, consciousness-shifting grooves from the likes of A Certain Ratio, PBR Streetgang, who offer a wobbly acid workout on ‘Chasin Perry’ and Massey And Supernature's slow, spangled disco dubber, 'Walk Now Walk'. Brazilian DJ, vinyl digger, party starter, and style icon Martha Pinel has officially joined the Toy Tonics family. Splitting her time between Rio de Janeiro and Berlin, she’s the founder of Assembleia, a laid-back Rio party that’s become a Carnival sensation, and co-founder of Croma, a music-meets-fashion project that shaped Rio’s alt-scene. Featured on the cover of GQ Brazil, she was named one of “13 artists changing the world.”
Her non-linear DJ sets fuse Afro-Brazilian rhythms, Middle Eastern grooves, Italo, disco, house, and Balearic sounds - always bold, emotional, and unpredictable. She’s played Boiler Room, Paris Fashion Week, KALA Festival, DGTL, and more, alongside names like Hunee, Antal, and Prins Thomas.
Martha’s debut EP Real Rio captures a rediscovery of her hometown—a city where beauty and chaos collide in dramatic highs and lows. Z The track Assim reimagines Marcos Valle’s classic Estrelar with collaborator Gabto, reflecting on Rio’s unique “Body Culture” - that unmistakable energy you feel walking along Ipanema Beach.

Theoric Proximity, the debut album from Jus Jam, explores themes of connection, distance, and the subtle spaces in between. Each track contributes to a cohesive, dreamlike journey that reflects his personal and emotional approach to house and electronic music.

Placed early in the tracklist, Midnight Marauder stands out as a key moment in the album. Balancing early house and deep house, the track is carried by a warm, rounded bass line that drives the groove, while a brass sample adds a boom bap flavor rooted in Jus Jam’s hip-hop influences.

The atmosphere is airy and nostalgic, evoking the feeling of drifting through a summer city at night—heat lingering in the air, softened by a light breeze. Drawing on inspirations such as Space Ghost and Ron Trent, but also the spirit of groups like A Tribe Called Quest or Black Moon, Midnight Marauder encapsulates Jus Jam’s vision of house: music that grooves, that transports, equally at home on the dancefloor or in more intimate, reflective moments.

The B-side starts with "Somo", a bright and catchy track full of sunny melodies and feel-good energy, evoking Italo disco moods. Finally, "Flusso Libero" closes the EP with elegance and depth. DC Promo Tracks: Pleasure Voyage "Natural Unity" (Oceanic Version)

Antinote Records founder Zaltan offers up an hour's worth of Parisian thrift store gems for our lastest mix.

Zaltan is the record playing alias of Quentin Vandewalle, who along with fellow Antinote founder Gwenael Jamois was responsible for one of last year's most remarkable label debuts. The Tapes 12" presented a long overdue airing to some mind-bendingly ahead of it's time techno that Jamois recorded under the Iueke name whilst working as an engineer in a Brixton based recording studio in the early nineties.

Sat in Jamois' mother's loft for some twenty years accruing inches of tape dust, this unreleased material was finally given an impeccable looking release after some concerted wine infused badgering from Vandewalle and made for the perfect debut Antinote release, a label with a stated focus on unearthing unreleased material from bygone eras.

How to follow a record like Iueke's is quite the quandary, and Antinote elected to go for something completely different in the shape of the luminous and languid charms of the Sphere & Cylinder 12" from French soft rock troupe Syracuse. Such immediate diversity is a reflection of Vandewalle and Jamois' respective wide musical tastes, and coupled with some truly wonderful sleeve design has marked Antinote out as a label whose output will always be a pleasant surprise.

In advance of the label's third release from Albinos dropping, Quentin donned his Zaltan robes and dug through the last few months of his record finds for a hour long mixture of second hand curios and personal classics as well as answering a few questions we sent his way.
