To celebrate Too Rough 4 Radio dishing out raw bangers for 5 years, they have gathered together 30 tracks from their heavy hitting roster along with special guests from around the globe. Ushering in their heavy-hitting TR4R alumni like Tommy Vicari Jnr, Hany, Florian, to name a few, the compilation covers all grounds of house, breaks, electro, techno and rave hysteria. From Salomo & Reece Walker´s electro opener to Slim Steve’s hazy techno house hybrid to Nørus & Dj Whipr Snipr’s high octane stepper, all the way to Øall Håtes’ closing acid thumper, the compilation is a testament to the breadth of TR4R’s eclectic and club leaning chunes over the years.

Our second premiere of the day comes from formative US techno producer D-Knox as he returns to the archives serving up four previously unreleased tracks on his Sonic Mind imprint. We premiere ‘DAT Rip 06’ a funk-driven electro groove that’s reminiscent of classy Miami bass.

D-Knox (a.k.a. Donnell Knox) delves back into the archives for ‘DAT Rips Vol. 2’, the follow-up to Vol. 1 (SM-39), which he released in 2020. The new EP features four more previously unreleased tracks, now rediscovered, mastered, and sounding just as fresh as the day they were made.

The legendary Donnell Knox has been making music for nearly 30 years since growing up in Michigan’s Kalamazoo (halfway between Detroit and Chicago) to his current location in Poland’s capital city of Warsaw where he continues to run his evergreen Sonic Mind label.

We premiere ‘DAT Rip 06’, a fast-paced trip through electro rhythms as he turns away from squealing techno to focus on a syncopated piece of broken funk. The track thrives on its jarring percussion elements that have been meticulously programmed and layered, creating a dynamic and energetic slice of club-driven Kalamazoo electro.

'Muff Case' is brilliantly lithe techno with hurried drum funk and synth rushes that are cut through by icy hi-hats. 'Strike Icer' is classic soul-drenched Detroit techno with lush synth symphonies over sleek beats. Kr!z steps up on the flip to trip you out with the occult loops of 'Sorcerer' and bleeping minimal menace of 'Lightworks.' Four timeless cuts of fad-free, damn-good techno.

Emerging from the ashes of Ireland's early rave era - that had been absorbed into the vastly commercialised club scene of the late '90s - was an oft forgotten, but exceptionally fertile period for electronic music in Ireland. Spearheaded by the then Dublin duo of Decal (later becoming the solo project of Alan O' Boyle), nurtured through nights like Phunk City at The Funnel, Model One at Switch and at a later point midweek club haunt Electric City, an unlikely Irish electro movement was born; breeding an abundance of new labels, parties and producers hungry to make their mark. "Dreams of Electric Bleep" revisits a crucial time of development (1999-2005), when production standards on the island of Ireland rose in perfect synchronicity with the collapse of the music industry as we knew it.

While Detroit, The Hague and London heavily influenced the sounds heard in the clubs, clubs in pubs, warehouses and great outdoors of Ireland - it was producers from Belfast, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Limerick and Mayo who created the first significant chunk of high-quality Irish electro, demonstrated here over a range of styles (originally released on a variety of local and international labels). This double 12" Earwiggle release [EAR034] - featuring key tracks from Decal, Magnetize, Metroneem, Americhord, Phil Kieran, Takeover Sound, Chymera and John Braine - comes on picture-sleeved clear green vinyl, and includes a download code.

Returning to Earwiggle for the first time since one of our early hits (his Midwest Whippersnappers EP with Paul Birken), the inimitable Freddy Fresh provides some choice material from the year 1996, remastered and ready for modern consumption.

We start with the tunnelling acid tour-de-force of "Abraxas", that first appeared on Freddy's "Analog Space Funk" album on Analog, followed by a similarly spaced out (yet previously unreleased) track of the same period, "Aerial". 

Originally released on Cari Lekebusch's Hybrid label, "Logical Grooves 1" is prototype supernatural techno on an almost morbid tip, while "Barogue" is a classic Freddy Fresh cut to wrap up (fittingly taken from his "Accidentally Classic" album on Harthouse), where weighty Mr. Fingers style chords play over an epic and deep-building exotic soundscape. "1996" marks a special snapshot in time - when Freddy Fresh did 'out there' techno in a way that no-one else did, techno that we believe will always stand the test of time. 

Also included is a special A4 poster of a young Freddy patching in the studio, giving a small glimpse of the Minneapolis great at his weird and wonderful work.
