This song is based on an unfortunately true story. I did a search for someone I knew in college and I found out that she had passed quite young. I gave this song a happier ending, but it still chokes me up a bit.

I typed her middle name, the one she never used,
An age to match my own, a little trail of clues.
No picture, just a town she might’ve passed through,
I sat there chasing shadows in the screen’s blue glow.

It’s about humility, too, knowing we all wander off at times, and the courage it takes to turn back, redirect, and steady the path again. The song of truth is always there, waiting to be heard.
