It's been a messed up year but there's been many positive things to be grateful for and a big part of that is the incredible music that I've discovered on a daily basis. Consistent inspiration from so many wonderful artists has kept me going in this crazy time. Spryk is the electronic music & art exploration of Mumbai based Tejas Nair. Whether its immersive art installations, awe-inspiring Audio Visual Live performances, ambisonic sound for VR & video games, or
club-ready releases, Spryk’s work is a classic case of electronic exploration that makes use of available technology while referencing that which came before it and does so in a sincerely human way.

His latest offering, a 7 track studio album titled APEX is the result of a commission from the coveted Magnetic Fields Festival, asking Spryk to explore the relationship between Music, Technology & Humanity.
The results of which debuted as a magnificent live Audio Visual performance at the festival in December of 2019 & went on to premiere as part of the Boiler Room ‘Streaming from Isolation’ series. The show was rated as one of the top 5 key performances at the festival by Resident Advisor & Rolling Stone & is slated to tour India in March 2021.

At the core, Spryk as a project and Tejas as a musician, DJ, curator and an interdisciplinary artist focuses on provoking a greater understanding of thought, action & interaction. This idea is pushed to new depths on his forthcoming second studio album. Over the past few years, his work has been endorsed and supported by the likes of Red Bull Music as a key artist in the region and Sennheiser Audio as a partner for their immersive audio line of products titled AMBEO.

‘APEX’ is due for release in the latter half of 2020 via his own imprint Skip-A-Beat, which was launched late 2018 to release his debut album ‘Strange Movements’. The label found its roots in his online radio show that unearths the lesser-known plethora of electronic music talent across the Indian Sub Continent. The label is currently co-producing the Selector Pro - Visual Music Residency in collaboration with the British Council.

Beyond this, Spryk’s interests remain varied. He runs Press Play Studio, a successful Audio Production house in his home city of Mumbai, works on building Eyemyth New Media Arts Festival in Mumbai & a grassroots music festival in Chennai called Madras Medai, both focusing on shaping new culture movements & building communities.

Tor is a DJ/producer hailing from Vancouver who’s consistently released his signature brand of electronic music since 2011. His debut 10-track LP, Drum Therapy, released on Loci Records arrived in 2012 and in 2016, his sophomore album Blue Book was released via the same imprint & both would go on to gain over 20 million combined hits across all platforms to-date. Over time, he’s graced the stages at some of the world’s most renowned events and festivals, like Electric Forest, Lightning in a Bottle, Shambhala, Envision, Basscoast, Oregon Eclipse, & The Do Lab stage at Coachella to name a few.

After busy periods of making music & touring, the newfound sense of home & permanence now felt by Tor can be heard throughout Oasis Sky. Set to release on own imprint, Eleuthera Music, the new album marks an exciting new point for the acclaimed electronic musician.

Oasis Sky is Tor’s first original body of work since his revered 2016 album, 'Blue Book'. It expands on the latter’s meditative energy with the producer’s signature warmth and beat-driven atmospherics, while digging deeper into the experiences and emotions that have informed the past 4 years of his life. From a hefty touring schedule that saw the Vancouver-based producer playing his music across the U.S., E.U., Australia, & Costa Rica, in addition to busy periods of time spent working on remixes for artists including Clozee, Odesza, and Rüfüs Du Sol, the album only began to come into focus after slowing down, establishing roots, finding centre and introspection in a new living space.

"For me, this album is a reflection on my sense of home....it's a highrise apartment, looking out over rooftops, trees, and mountains. It’s filled with plants and flowers, and to me, it feels like an oasis in the sky.” Eliciting this otherworldly feeling of an oasis in the sky, lead single, 'Foxglove' arrives as a vibrant exploration of melody and rhythm, featuring bittersweet piano and warped keys alongside sliding bass and clattering hi-hats. Parallel to these new expeditions in synthesis and sound design, sampling continues to play an important part in his process and throughout the album, Tor has pulled from an eclectic palette: textures and snippets from Finnish folk hymns, spiritual jazz, prog rock, ‘60s Rwandan field recordings, early ambient & experimental records all add a distinctive depth to the album’s 10 tracks.

The release of “Oasis Sky” & Tor’s reflections of home come after being on the move for much of his upbringing & early adult life, as his family moved between W. Canada, Montréal, & Australia before finally  Vancouver. This kinetic lifestyle would continue with his blossoming career as a musician, taking him off touring the world while balancing day jobs and side gigs. With the world slowing down due to the ongoing global health crisis, he was able to find inspiration in the newly found time and space, removing distractions and finding stillness to hone in on the themes & inspiration that would define this new album.

The impression of home & grounding is also expressed in the album’s series of striking floral artwork, created by Portland-based artist, Slater Knight. 'Oasis Sky' lands April 30th on vinyl & digital formats.

With an evolving sound encompassing Colombian rhythms, electro blends, dazzling synth lines and his own vocal touches, he portrays a sense of magical realism in his original productions. During his career, OKRAA's tracks have been played on BBC Radio 1, KEXP, NTS Radio and Rinse FM. Press reviews include Resident Advisor, DJ MAG, Mixmag, and VICE, among others. During his career, he has performed at Pop Kultur Festival (Berlin), SXSW (Austin, TX), Mutek, Festival Estéreo Picnic and has toured through the UK, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Slovakia, Mexico and Colombia. 

His sound has evolved through the years, always taking the Colombian rhythms imprinted on his DNA to the language of different genres of electronic music. He has always pushed his sound further into experimentation with every release, taking listeners through a diverse journey during the listening process. For his compositions, Juan decided to stay away from computers and digital workstations, working with an MPC Live + numerous synth modules, in the aim of coming up with an end-product that reflects the sound of his live performances. Thumping electro blends with cununo samples and dazzling synth lines to portray Magical Realism. 

He has won the 'Bogotá, Capital creativa de la música' national composition award + a 'Best Electronic Artist' nomination in Colombia's most important music awards (SHOCK awards). 

After having his 2020 EP release entitled ‘Fathom’ receive great exposure, including a premiere of the title track on Getting Deeper, 2021 and 2022 come up with several releases lined up already on different local and international labels to be announced soon.

For Jesse Somfay, music is high bandwidth communication. Now composing under the name Somfay and previously his pseudonym Borealis, Jesse's primary focus is translating and sharing through music, powerful emotions and experiences which cannot easily be defined.

For years, he has experienced intense synaesthesia, thus both his musical projects reflect that influence; primarily aural to visual, & visual to aural synaesthesia, plus a number of other sensory combinations, all experientially interlaced. This is the most important filter through which his inspiration passes & serves as one of the heaviest influences. A single tone with subtle texture can evoke immense inner experience.

As a producer, his focus is on discovering old, abandoned, and unkempt paths within the arts and bringing them through the flickering lenses of a parallel multiverse - in the same way that listening to an album or watching a film, while between waking and sleep, bends, corrupts and reassembles what is being experienced into something entirely new, but with a core that is somehow familiar and warm.

As a musician, melody must always be definite & strong, yet unexpected & illusory, the burning black hole at the centre of a galaxy and its gravitational lensing - while using unconventional rhythmic structures and textures, in a hypnotic manner, to deliver the emotional payload contained within.

Much of his inspiration comes from lucid dreaming, with a central desire as a creator to come close to repeating some of the dream sourced music in waking life & to inspire these experiences within others.

His impressive discography includes the timeless 2009 album, 'A Catch in the Voice', on Canadian imprint Archipel; productions on the iconic Kompakt, Global Underground, & Balance Music; plus a multitude of stunning EPs & extended compilations on his own label, Three Graces. 

Not simply a superbly talented musician, producer, sound designer and composer, Jesse has seamlessly fused his literary & visual media skills & passion throughout all of his work.

Jesse will continue to bring his work into constantly new and changing territory where emotion is consistently glowing vibrantly at its core. He believes vehemently that the unknown is where the most intensely rich beauty resides, yet undiscovered, and is well worth straying from the paths of convention to unravel.

A Friend of Marcus made an impressive launch on the scene in 2017 with his debut track 'She who Annihilates' featured on Henry Saiz’s Balance presents Natura Sonoris compilation; many calling it a stand out track. Released on NS again in March 2018 with a Petar Dundov remix, it saw support from Sasha, Henry Saiz, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur, Eagles & Butterflies & more. 

His second release - a remix of Depaart’s “Blowing Smoke” came out on Sasha’s famous Last Night on Earth with support from Sasha, John Digweed, Guy J, Joris Voorn, Tiefschwarz, Fideles and many more. His most recent release “Suspension Point”, his second release on Natura Sonoris came out March 2020 with two originals - “Ellipsis” and “Falling Short” - along with a killer techno remix from Blacktik.

As a DJ, A.F.O.M picked up a residency for Balance music’s global events, playing in Jakarta, Singapore and Noumea with Scuba, Apparat and Guy Mantzur. He’s also supported the likes of Solomun, Dixon and Guy Gerber in Melbourne, Shanghai & Mar del Plata along with playing the mighty Epizode Festival in Vietnam and legendary D-Edge in Sao Paulo. He’s performed in Asia at VENT and Womb in Tokyo, Iron Fairies in KL and Celia in Shanghai, as well as supporting Jamie Jones for two shows in Melbourne with Untitled Group including the infamous Wool Store. He is set to make his debut for Tronic in the next Ibiza season, and has upcoming shows at Vision in Tokyo along with a tour of India. His “I am not only colour” mixes continue to receive a ton of love online and his music and guest mixes have featured on Radio 3, John Digweed’s Transitions, Triple J Mix Up, Decoded Magazine, Proton Radio and more.

To Dundov, “techno is music that precedes movement. It is dance music, solid enough to carry emotions through the dance floor and abstract enough to be a template for ever”. And indeed his breathtaking productions embody this ethos, serving the inherent function of making your body pulse spontaneously while also challenging your brain with its complex melodies and slow-burning, hypnotic progressions.

Although maybe the word “techno” doesn’t give enough detail about his style, it’s probably the nearest ballpark to whose principles his music adheres – and he is keen to expand the horizons of what people know and expect of the genre. But it’s that sense of his tracks being alive, forever evolving and expanding and increasing in intensity, which gives his music its unique sound and has seen his work crossover into a myriad of different areas of the global electronic music scene. 

His music shows you that he’s a producer with more than churning out mindless, functional and dispensable drivel on his mind. There’s a philosophy entrenched in his productions that breathes the very spirit of life and dynamism into them: “My ultimate goal as a producer and musician is to bridge the world of inspiration and physical world to the extent where the listener wouldn't be able to distinguish between the two. Music has this unique property to communicate deep emotions that are inherently in all of us. We just forgot how to use them, and my search is an attempt to revive those emotions where we all resonate as one.”

Born in Zagreb in the early ‘70s, his career in dance music stretches back the best part of 20 years. He counts a longstanding relationship with Belgium’s legendary Music Man records where he released many singles and albums and more recently with Marc Romboy's Systematic Recordings & the excellent Renaissance Records, amongst many others.

Grammy nominated engineer, producer and songwriter Steven Weston was brought up in Portsmouth, learning to play the organ as a kid, but an early obsession with electronic music soon had him trading it in for a set of turntables. At 18, he left for Spain, where he became a resident DJ on the Murcia coast. 

He’s been on the move ever since, touring the world playing keyboard for the likes of Ladyhawke, Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko and UNKLE. He was also the first and lead bass player in The KLE side project Badger Kull and cut his teeth as an engineer at Metropolis and Strongroom studios in London, working many years with the bands Chronixx & Rudimental at their studio Major Toms in Hoxton.

His inaugural dance music release came in early 2021 with a remix of Catch Me When I Fall from the Ronin I mixtape, which saw great support from John Digweed. 

After launching his own imprint Blank Dust with two EPs, he went on to release on Sasha’s celebrated Last Night On Earth with ‘Liquid followed by his Anjunadeep debut March 31st with the first single from his forthcoming After the Flow EP, entitled ‘Like I Used To’, featuring vocals from British singer-songwriter Låpsley.

Also a supremely technically gifted sound technician, Alex creates music for film and television and could never be accused of lacking excitement. Amplifying his skills on every level, he retains the essence of emotional communication that makes his work so engaging.

“People really feel like they’ve got an emotional connection to it,” he says. “I feel like every track that I write has to resonate with me on an emotional level. If I’m not connecting with it and it’s not evoking some kind of feeling in me then why should I expect the listener to feel that too? As we’re all made of the same kind of stuff as it’s resonating with me then hopefully it’s going resonate with other people who are listening to it as well.”

On Nov.12th, Alex piloted a cataclysm of new abrasive sounds with his EP ‘Tephra’, released on Max Cooper’s Mesh imprint. 

The ideas emerged from two months in the rugged, black volcanic surroundings of the Canary Islands, Spain. Banks armed himself with a restricted set of equipment taken from his studio in Brighton and set about focusing on the core of his musical expression.

The 5 track EP draws an abrasive array of intertwined melodic structures - one that could only be formed by an adept sound designers’ skillset. The title track and single ‘Tephra’, is woundingly brash, jagged and skull reverberating, it paints a mental landscape appropriate to where the tracks were born, in the context of a melodic hook line.

Following on from his second studio album, Beneath the Surface which was released on Mesh in 2019. Banks’ reimagines a different story, one of which was sculpted by his time witnessing unearthly volcanic landscapes. The change in scenery he recalls brought a welcomed ‘change of mindset’ than the earlier intense period of locking himself away in his Brighton studio with intermittent bursts of time spent by the coast to foster creative thought. It brought a different intensity to Banks’ sound, one that impressively finds a line between home listening and club-focussed dance-floor bangers.

“Any words I can provide to say how large this release is are a weak reflection of listening to the music. The first time I heard the tracks the energy was just oozing out of them into my torso, and that hook line in Tephra, it's something. It's so hard to make a melodic structure like that which is so simple and catchy while also being engaging after so many years of people trying to make simple and catchy hook lines. It's a fine art of big sound Alex is onto throughout, classic references, full human expression, no holding back, it's a beautiful thing to experience with a full frequency response system”.

As an accomplished DJ, radio show host, label manager, producer, published writer, and genuine story-teller, with no shortage of curveballs in her repertoire, she’s never afraid to take risks and explore new avenues of expression. Frankfurt born, Berlin based DJ, producer, & composer Martin Roth first arrived in the spotlight of global underground dance music when alongside Eric Prydz and Deadmau5, he was named a Beatport Star of 2009.

Since those days, Martin has gone from strength to strength, solidifying his reputation as one of the most respected & talented artists of the underground electronic scene.

Influenced by both the classic progressive house sound of the last few decades and the deep house & electronica avant garde of today, Martin’s productions have been continually supported by the likes of Solomun, Sasha, John Digweed, Eric Prydz, Tiefschwarz, Pete Tong amongst many other leading names.

With multiple releases on major imprints such as Anjundeep, Global Underground, Armada, Perspectives Digital, and ICONYC, to name a few, Martin is equally as natural and instinctive on the decks as he is in the studio.

2020 saw the release, with widespread acclaim, of his album masterpiece ‘Analog Guy in a Digital World’ on Lunatique Records, showcasing his undeniable flare for emotive & cinematic songwriting as well as his classical piano training and tremendous depth as an artist. 

Another of these beautiful ambient compositions - ‘Love Theme’ - is now out on Anjunadeep’s Reflections Volume 2 compilation. It signifies a decade long relationship between the label & Roth, which saw his debut release back in 2010. Since then, he’s produced some of the most memorable moments in Anjunadeep’s 15 year history, including ‘Beautiful Life’, ’Hypno Seq’ and ‘Organic Cold Brewed Hipster Funk’ EPs.

Mattr aka Matthew Clugston is a leftfield house, breaks, and techno producer as well as a superbly talented motion graphics artist from Birmingham, now living in London. With residencies dating back to his hometown at Code with Steve Lawler as well as supporting gigs for Sasha & Danny Tenaglia, Mattr would share decks with the likes of Tale of Us & Jamie Jones before hosting his own events with fellow innovator and Getting Deeper favourite - Alex Banks - as well as Maxxi Soundsystem, and XXXY, to name a few. It was from there that he made the move to Berlin to study music production & performance and where he'd form a friendship with label partner, Max Winstanley (Lewyn Stan)who he paired up with to launch their Helical Scan imprint.

After years honing his sound, Matthew went on to release his first album along with several other productions on Faceless Recordings, TrippyCode, Ozono, and CRR, garnering support from Amé, Guy Gerber, Anja Schneider, Nick Warren, Rodriguez Jr, & the legendary Laurent Garnier.

25 years after first cutting his teeth DJing tech house & breaks, Mattr's broad musical palette often draws him closer to the more emotive side of electronic music, finding deep resonance with forward-thinking artists like Max Cooper, Jon Hopkins, Tourist, Overmono, Fourtet, Phon.O and Radioactive Man, whom you'll often hear in his consistent & beautifully diverse mix series. 

With two recent fantastic EP releases on his own imprint Loft & Sound - 'Antigenic Drift' & 'Salix' - from which we premiered Cygnus & Spiel, Mattr now treats us to a very special exclusive guest mix.

A visionary, DJ, composer and producer, Othon creates soul-sailing journeys accompanied by electronic and acoustic instruments alike. Floating somewhere between melancholy and ecstasy (and often in both at the same time) his music promotes fusion of body and mind, soul and spirit.

Othon has performed his work across Europe and in diverse venues such as the Tate Modern, the Roundhouse and the National Portrait Gallery in London, the MCF in Athens and Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana in Turin. As an experimentalist and songwriter, Othon has collaborated with influential artists such as Marc Almond (Soft Cell), Wolfgang Tillmans, the late Peter Christopherson (co-founder of Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV and Coil), Ernesto Tomasini and David Tibet (Current 93). He has also scored the soundtrack to performances by several international avant-garde artists including Ron Athey, Franko B and Lee Adams.

Othon is the founder of the pivotal Papa Loko events which bring together ‘cosmic soundscapes with self-expansive spiritual concepts’. Papa Loko has featured UK debuts from now established international talent and is growing a worldwide reputation. He is also the founder of Consciousness Expansion; a music channel and label that promotes the finest upcoming spirit-infused electronic sounds and beyond.
