Electronic magic - that is what we call it. The synths are soft but straight, the clap is coming smooth and blows your mind away. Welcome Betoko on Einmusika. We don’t need to introduce the Mexican producer based in London, we just tell you, that the sun is back with these sounds coming up in April. "Phobik" is mystic and wide open - a real summer track without redunant parts. You’ll simply get lost during the break and you’ll need a deep breath after it. Be prepared, "Botox" isn’t that circumspect. It is minimalistic and straight in the beginning but after a few seconds you are back in the good old times of Techno. Less light, more night. The track reminds you of a video game sound, quick and metallic. When it stops, we have "A Long Story Short" with a bleeping start and a warm melody combined with techy synths and a dark backdrop. It’s like a chemical reaction - not easy to get out of your mind and your body. So, that is what we call magic - simply infecting.

It's been tipped as the breakthrough track of Dutch newcomer duo Cubicolor. 'Falling' will be released as a single from the upcoming debut album due on Anjunadeep. The single is supported with a hefty remix to up the buzz, by none other than KOMPAKT contributor Robag Wruhme. “Falling” also features London based Tim Digby-Bell, one of the founding members of the experimental-indie band Duologue.

Falling EP will be released on the 25th of January on Fayer.

Italy’s Rosario Galati and Germany’s Yves Murasca collaborate once again to provide a pair of sultry house cuts featuring remixes from Simone Vitullo and Holter & Mogyoro.
Known for working closely with Milk & Sugar Recordings as well as pioneering his Deepalma Records imprint over the last three years, Yves Murasca is a hot topic in the world of contemporary house music. Meanwhile, Rosario Galati has been cutting his teeth in the scene for a decade, releasing music under monikers such as Emmanuel Dunn and also part of the trio Sicily Pleasure before returning to produce under his birth name.
Empowered vocals and a warm bass drive ‘I Don’t Need You’ forward whilst numerous effects join heady horn riffs throughout. ‘Hypnotize’ then delivers soothing chords and dusky drones in a deep and poignant production. Next Up, Simone Vitullo’s remix capitalizes on prominent horns of ‘I Don’t Need You’ whilst generating an infectious groove until Holter & Mogyoro’s rendition utilizes drawn out breakdowns, floating atmospherics and uplifting piano.

Berlin-based DJ and production duo Tale of Us take a step back from their busy touring and production schedule to compile the latest instalment of Renaissance's 'The Mix Collection' series. 

“We put this mix together in Mexico, looking out at a beautiful sea in a magical spot in the Yucatan, surrounded by friends and label mates as we recovered from an intense new year's and BPM rush. It was the perfect setting to take on something like this, looking back at the year behind us, not concerned so much by genres and boundaries as much as by assembling a musical picture of where we're at, where we've been and most importantly a little bit of where we're going. Each of the two mixes is a journey unto itself but together they can be seen as our musical chiaroscuro, reflecting a bit of the two sides of the way we think both about DJing and producing. It's hard to confine ourselves to just over 2 hours when there is so much music we've fallen in love with but this is the best reflection of this moment in time for us. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have.”

Throughout their first mix the duo move effortlessly between the driving aesthetics of Kollektiv Turmstrasse and anthemic highs of Scuba to more experimental and angular remixes from Baths and Four Tet. The second mix takes a distinctly more mininal approach, with the textures of Daniel Avery, Recondite, Robert Hood and Extrawelt's productions taking the driving seat and remixes from the likes of Donato Dozzy and DJ Koze switching up already excellent originals. Across both mixes Tale of Us have managed to balance the deep, melodic, upbeat and sometimes more challenging elements of electronic music through careful selection and programming to ensure both have the flow and finesse that listeners have come to expect of a Renaissance release.

Tale of Us are certainly no strangers to the decks, between throwing their own 'Just This' secret loft parties in Milan, regular fixtures at renowned clubs such as Berlin's Watergate, Ibiza's DC10 as well as live and DJ sets at festivals such as Sonar and Movement. Alongside this, their productions have caught the attention of Seth Troxler, Shaun Reeves, Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss, who released their debut EP on Visionquest in 2011. 

The Mix Collection series saw it's inaugural 1994 release from Sasha & John Digweed, who set a new standard for the DJ compilation format. Since then Renaissance has undergone a musical shift, with recent contributions from M.A.N.D.Y., Gui Boratto and now Tale of Us helping to bring the original spirit of the brand to a new generation of music aficionados.
