Italian DJ/producer, Steal Tapes, returns to Street Tracks for another extended player brimming with raw house flavours .  A trio of funky cuts are assembled on the ‘Hyper’ EP, embodying the signature sounds of this rising talent who has already impressed with releases for Beatraxx, Too Many Rules and the Mine Is Yours label.

The title track ‘Hyper’ melds bendy synth lines and crunchy drums together, as vocal chops rhythmically twitching over the industrious beat.  ‘Kappa’ is built upon a minimal swing, as a solitary riff contorts and twists to maximum effect, whilst the EP closer, ‘Red Sox’, features playful effected vocals and a shuffling breakbeat, as ravey bleeps give this one a particular old school flavour!

You can take the boy out of Somerset, but you can’t take Somerset out the boy.  West country DJ/producer, Will Clarke, has spent lockdown period on his home turf, miles from the Motor City of Detroit where he usually now resides.  And a creative patch has yielded a stellar single for Dense & Pika’s on-form Kneaded Pains label, with ‘Feel The Power’.

A rasping lead line and granite hard drums define ‘Feel The Power’, delivered at a relatively moderate pace, but with no less ferocity, as its devilish vocal refrain establishes a darker tint of this pure banger.  Accompanying track, ‘Mondays’, is equally as brazen, as police sirens and white noise flash past an infectious synth lick and gut wrenching kicks.

Will Clarke has had an industrious couple of years, launching his own All We Have Is Now imprint, alongside releases for labels such as Trick, We Are The Brave, Relief and Drumcode.
