This is a song about depression and survival. 

When I wrote it I still had another 25 years of surviving it ahead of me. But I'd made a decision years before, when I was 14, that no matter how bad it got it would always get better, sooner or later. And it always did, at least for a while. And knowing that somehow made it just a little bit easier to smile.


[This is a new mix. Drums by John Bennetts have been added and everything else has been changed, at least a little.]

Even today, modern politicians are educated by what's been dubbed a "manual of statecraft", penned by the so-called Father of Modern Political Philosophy and Political Science, the 16th century Venetian, Niccolò Machiavelli. 

In Machiavelli's book, The Prince, they are taught that no matter how evil the means that they employ are, to achieve victory, the ends will justify those means. Then as the victors, all they have to do is to rewrite the history, to present themselves as the good guys.

Hey guys, so this song, Blame Me, is really personal for me. It’s about that emotional struggle we sometimes go through when we feel blamed or burdened by a relationship that's falling apart. I wanted to write from a space of vulnerability, where the emotional weight feels real—where you start questioning yourself, wondering if it's all on you or if you're just being made the scapegoat.

Musically, I kept it raw and direct to reflect the heaviness of that feeling. The production blends a mix of R&B and pop with some electronic undertones, allowing the emotion in my voice to take center stage. I didn’t want to overdo it with production; instead, I leaned into a smooth groove that carries the mood of frustration and sadness.

When I recorded the vocals, I wanted to make sure you could hear the ache and the strength at the same time. It’s like saying, ‘I know this is painful, but I’m also not going to let it crush me.’ That balance was important for me in the studio.

I hope Blame Me resonates with you guys, especially those moments where you feel like you're being unjustly held accountable for something in a relationship. Let it be a reminder that it’s okay to stand up for yourself, even when it hurts.

MY NAME IS IRIS

Hey, everyone! Thanks for tuning in to “Care Less.” This track is really close to my heart, so I wanted to give you a peek behind the curtain.

“Care Less” is all about letting go of the weight and expectations people try to put on us. I wanted it to feel like a moment of clarity, like that split second realization when you decide you don’t have to carry around other people’s judgments or doubts. It's empowering, but also raw; it’s about the freedom that comes with saying, “You know what? I just don’t care anymore.”

I worked my azz of to make the  sound just right. The instrumental has a mix of deep bass and sharp, crisp percussion that gives it a little edge. There’s this steady groove to it, almost hypnotic, and that’s intentional. I wanted it to feel like a mantra, something you can get lost in. The beat kind of mirrors that feeling of rising above, lifting you up and away from the noise.

Vocally, I kept things soulful but didn’t hold back on the grit, I wanted that honest, real sound, like I'm talking directly to you. There’s a bit of reverb and layering to give it that larger
 than life feel, like you're in that mental space with me, breaking free from whatever’s been holding you down.

Tasha - Care Less

This song was inspired by the ancient practice of Bee Shamanism and its associated sacred sex practices that confer Sovereignty, which has been coming back into view since the discovery of the role of the Melissae, or Bee Priestesses, across the Middle East, Mesopotamia and Greece, thousands of years ago.

Origami (REWORKED)

Hey, fam! 👋 So, I took on Sweet Melody by Little Mix, and I’m loving how it turned out. But let’s talk about the vibe difference between my version and the original, it’s all about putting my own spin on it.
In Little Mix’s version, their harmonies are insane! They really push those vocals to the front, giving it that bold, in your face pop energy. With mine, I kept the vocals a bit more intimate, like I’m telling you a story up close. It’s a bit softer but still heartfelt. If I wanted that Little Mix power, I’d crank up the vocal presence a bit more.
Their production is sharp, punchy, and so polished, you feel the beats hit like boom boom boom! Mine? I went for a smoother vibe where the instruments are a little more prominent, wrapping you up in the mood. It’s like their version is a stadium anthem, and mine’s more of a late night jam sesh.
The original is a banger high energy, dancefloor ready. My version leans into a slightly chill, vibey groove. It’s like... Little Mix is the party starter, and I’m the afterparty where we just kick back and feel the music.
So what do you guys think? Should I push the vocals up or keep it laid-back? 💭 Let me know, I wanna hear from you! ❤️🎶
