"O.T.O.T.W." is the debut single by Toronto-based artist James Wyatt Crosby.

The songwriter and multi-instrumentalist makes catchy, grand-scale dreampop songs with a lo-fi DIY ethos. Crosby purposely printed effects to tape during the initial tracking of O.T.O.T.W., adding an indelible atmospheric wash to the mix. "There's also an autoharp in the recording which has a really sweet strummy sound and glues the whole song together," he adds.

Crosby's vocals are pitched up slightly, adding a sweet, dreamy edge to the track. The song's lyrics, delivered over a happy melody and lush dreampop arrangements, drift back and forth between bliss and melancholy.

"I wanted to make a song that explains the feeling of being in a really good place while knowing that it's fleeting and things will ultimately change," explains Crosby. "I was listening to The Smiths and Talking Heads a lot when I was writing and recording it. I feel those bands do a good job of making songs that are simultaneously happy and sad, and that's kind of what I was going for."

The Wild is a tune we put together after we got home from a volunteer farming trip across Europe where we went up some mountains, ran with some bulls and once got stuck shoveling trampled goat shit for hours in 100 degree heat. The goat incident aside, we spent those months living largely off the grid - constantly moving through remote areas, away from wifi and cell phones, with a couple shirts - and boxers - we washed in rivers and sinks. This song came out of the realization that we ended up being more comfortable, and feeling more alive eating reindeer and getting soaked in arctic rain out in the Swedish Lapland than on a couch, living the stationary lives we got away from. This is our first original single, and also the first song where Devin plays an electric guitar in the verses, which we thought fit better with the huge electronic soundscape Aaron whipped up. The album art is a picture we took at base camp below Kebnekaise, the tallest peak in Sweden.
