Just Polaroid is a Bristol based band created by Leon Stephens, Chris Gowing and Ann Smith. Their sound is an alternative organic pop fusion with elements of indie, funk and electronica, all bound together with poetic words. Musically, inspiration has come from great British bands such as Joy Division and The Smiths, as well as developing genres such as chillwave and post dub-step to name a few.

Just Polaroid (formally known as The Felts) was officially formed in the autumn of 2009, with Leon Stephens and Ann Smith recording a few ideas together in their home studio. In the summer of 2010 Chris Gowing joined the band and took up the role of lead vocalist along side Ann Smith. 

Just Polaroid are currently unsigned and looking for potential recording and publishing contracts.

Unsigned Bristol-based band Just Polaroid recorded this great cover of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy The Silence” last November and by employing a stripped back tactic, with almost-spoken word vocals the band have constructed an elaborate take on this dark Synth-Pop classic, distinct enough to call their own.

My Body

The Felts are a Bristol based band created by Chris Gowing, Ann Smith and Leon Stephens. Their sound is an alternative twist on popular guitar music, bound together with poetic words. Musically inspired by bands such as Arcade Fire, The Smiths and Radiohead, The Felts strive to create emotive music without boundaries.

During October 2010, The Felts completed their first single entitled “The Connoisseur”. The single was written from a sincere perspective with the intention to capture the imagination of the listener. Stories of lost dreams, wishful thinking and the rat race can be heard in their lyrics. With their lo fi production and poetic expression, there is a real alternative 80’s feel to this single. "Lies" is on the b-side to "The Connoisseur".

In November2010 soon after "The Connoisseur" was recorded, The Felts covered and transformed "Enjoy The Silence" by Depeche Mode. The track was stripped back and given a fresh darker identity.
