I've been an avid user of Image-Line's fantastic FM synth Toxic Biohazard for a long, long time, basically since it came out. I figured I'd share some of my favorite custom presets with you, and of course I needed a demo song. Enjoy!

Note: All synth sounds created with Toxic Biohazard and utterly minimal processing (very light EQ on a few tracks, sidechaining where applicable, master track has been compressed/EQ'd).

Germs are everywhere and if you're not careful
They'll make you real sick you best beware you'll
Feel it in your tummy or your head gets hot
Muscles super achy and a nose full of snot
It's especially a bummer if you sneezin in the summer
Lumber round the playground when you really needin slumber
But I wonder! Do you know the secret to beat
The best defense is to kee your hands clean
Cover up your sneeze n your cough with your crease
Inner elbow with the clutch if no tissue is in reach
Oh gee you're feelin icky - yeah it is a pity
Cuz the fever's off the charts n your throat is very gritty
Have some tea, water, cold/cough/syrup I know
The combo ain't the best, but we need this bug to go
So away with you to rest youngin - don't you dare delay
The faster you recooperate the sooner you play

This song was originally a demo for Peter Project, who was working on a producer album featuring different MCs over beats he was making using strictly vintage hardware samplers from hip-hop's golden era, which he planned to record entirely to two-inch magnetic tape. A beautiful idea which turned out to be way too much work plus rappers are slow so he only got one song done as planned - "Peter North" which wound up on the Swamp Thing album Planet Murk - before he had to pack up the vintage gear to make room in his studio for a giant vibraphone so he could score Bomb Girls for CTV.

"I score bomb girls like Peter Project" sounds like a Wordburglar line! Except he's married, so uh never mind.

I recorded this demo not on two-inch tape, but in Cool Edit Pro 2.0 which is more obsolete than vintage, even at the time in 2012. The lyrics were slightly worse and so was the title, and it just sat and uh aged gracefully. Now it's the flagship of my new series of music that I! Cannot! Wait! To share with you!
