Warsaw-based cellist/composer Resina (Karolina Rec) returns with a first standalone album in three years, taking a big step forward on a bold and brilliantly expansive record that explores ideas about language, the voice and the unpredictability of nature. Recorded by Resina and Michał Kupicz, with striking additional mixing & production work by Daniel Rejmer (Ben Frost, Björk, Foals, Girls Names), 'Speechless’ is fluid and muscular, with wide dynamics and a dark and powerful dramatic weight. Across nine tracks, Resina's cello, voice and electronics are set alongside drummer Mateusz Rychlicki and the 23-piece 441 Hz choir.

Today, Chichester trio TRAAMS have shared a new track titled “Breathe”. The song is taken from their highly anticipated new album “personal best”, which is out 22nd July.

"personal best" marks the band's first full-length album since 2015's critically-acclaimed 'Modern Dancing', and comes hot on the heels of their recent highly acclaimed single 'Sleeper', which featured guest vocals from Soffie Viemose of Bella Union's Danish five-piece Lowly. 

The band recently announced their long-awaited return alongside a new single titled 'The Light At Night', which features Joe Casey of Protomartyr, and was accompanied by a new video co-directed by Charlotte Gosch & Lee Kiernan of IDLES. 

The new track “Breathe” arrives as a direct insight into the band’s musical evolution on the new record. Featuring guest vocals from Softlizard (the new project from Liza Violet of Menace Beach), the track sees propulsive and motorik bass gel with programmed beats, whilst warmly distorted, hook led guitar riffs grind alongside hypnotic vocals. This is all underpinned by subtle yet intricate synth lines and electronic manipulations, adding further nuance to their sound and perfectly exemplifying the new songwriting methods that were explored across “personal best”.

Qumran (Hebrew: קומראן‎; Arabic: خربة قمران‎ Khirbet Qumran) is an archaeological site in the West Bank managed by Israel's Qumran National Park.[1] It is located on a dry plateau about a mile inland from the northwestern shore of the Dead Sea, near the Israeli settlement and kibbutz of Kalya. The Hellenistic period settlement was constructed during the reign of John Hyrcanus, 134-104 BCE or somewhat later, and was occupied most of the time until it was destroyed by the Romans in 68 CE or shortly after. It is best known as the settlement nearest to the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden, caves in the sheer desert cliffs and beneath, in the marl terrace.

This track was originally written in 2006 after a trip to Zurich but never released, only passed around to friends who had the dj prefix. Tracks generally don't reach many people when they just hang around on a dusty hard drive somewhere so we decided it needed a slight retouch and a friendly giveaway release. Enjoy.

The project is inspired by his discovery of a deep love for electronic music whilst studying at the American School of Jazz and Modern Music in Paris. ​

‘Okopipi’ is inspired by the rare poison dart frog of the same name. Povoa states that he wanted the song to feel like the Okopipi, ​“Liquid, tropical and menacing. It wants you to know how dangerous it is. That’s why it is so colorful.”
