Whenever things get hard or I’m faced with a new challenge, I always feel more willing to just burn everything down, start fresh, and reinvent a new part of myself and my life whenever I want. It can be destructive at times, but it’s also fun, empowering, and I kinda thrive on that energy of being like, “fk it, I’m gonna get what I want and nothing will stop me.” I was inspired by the tale of the gumiho/kitsune/hulijing—the nine-tailed fox, however you want to call her. She spent her life shapeshifting, creating new versions of herself, taking on the life of a queen, moving onto new paths, evolving and growing stronger each time. Hope this song empowers you to grow into whatever new version of yourself you’re ready to become.
