Following his debut release on vinyl for Atipic Lab, DumitrEscu delivers three heavy tracks on our third instalment. The A side features a break line that already made this artist’s sound stand out. On the B side the romanian DNA comes into action with two microhouse tracks. This one is made of the dance floor.

Started getting into electronic music in the early 2000s, being motivated by the new wave of electronic music in Romania, he started collecting music and exploring the in-depth of DJing.
Alex plays that music that takes you a nice state of mind, with sounds that connect the people on the  dancefloor, where dancing is the only activity you will only care about. 
You can count on him to have the right vibes no matter if he is on warmup duty or main event, playing quality records being influenced by artist like Ricardo Villalobos, Zip, Fumya Tanaka, Francesco Del Garda, Raresh, Praslea and others.

Ears Wide Open is my call for you to come wander open-heartedly into the endless realm of beats and melodies I dig, mostly – but not limited to – electronic, No boundaries or preconceptions, just all that music I wanted to share with the world, but I didn’t have the chance yet. 

I grew up listening to the radio or better said, the radio grew me musically, infected me with a visceral need to select the music I loved and tape it on cassettes. Later on, I started to buy vinyl and play them to the people at parties. Ears Wide Open triggers a new dimension of what DJing means for me. Tune in and enjoy!

Really pleased to announce this vinyl only podcast from Adam Mclean, founder of Descend Coventry, he has been Djing since back in 2004 and is continuing to leaned towards the more minimal spectrum of the sound. He has played at a variety of venues across UK and the globe along side some respectable names in the industry. Adam has started his own project Descend with the aim to bring the minimal sound to the Midlands.
Not an owner of records shop but a great collector of over 700 records.

His signature grooves and melodies travel between elegant club-oriented Deep House to Breakbeats. The entire ep is a killer on the dance floor and catches the eye on the shelves with the usual full-sleeve artwork by Brazilian visual artist Fernanda Mattos. A must have.

Loquace - Side Effects [preview]

This is part of a 5 or so hours warm-up set before Jan Kruger at 93 feet east for the new party Belong.

I used this opportunity to play music I don't usually get a chance to but enjoy collecting. It's a small cut from the set, but I tried to choose an earlier part of the recording which included ambient/downtempo as well as a shift toward more beat-driven styles for different listening.

Some of the transitions were not as hoped (one record proved too elusive to mix :P) but I enjoyed the set as a whole so thought to upload a piece.
