The Willit Blend (English version below)
wurde im Jahr 2011 von sechs jungen Musikern der Kölner Jazzszene gegründet.
Einfallsreiche Kompositionen bilden die Grundlage für eine Musik, die die dynamische Bandbreite eines zeitgenössischen Jazzensembles bis in die Extreme ausreizt. Polyphone, an kammermusikalische Klangwelten erinnernde Passagen verbinden sich kunstfertig mit lebendigen Improvisationen und orchestral anmutender Klanggewalt. Diese Wandlungsfähigkeit fasziniert, denn kaum fühlt man sich in bekannten Gewässern, wird man wieder ins offene Klangmeer getrieben um neue Welten zu entdecken. Es sind tiefe, ungekünstelte Emotionen, die der Zuhörer im Konzertverlauf gemeinsam mit der Band durchleben kann und die mit viel Feingefühl in den Arrangements umgesetzt werden.
Obwohl die Musiker gerade erst ihr Studium an der Musikhochschule Köln beendet haben, beeindruckt ihre Musik durch große Eigenständigkeit. Die musikalische Reife der einzelnen Mitglieder wurde durch Erfolge bei internationalen Jazzwettbewerben honoriert. Neben ihrem Engagement in kleineren Ensembles arbeiteten sie mit renommierten Klangkörpern wie den Bigbands von WDR, HR und SWR, dem European Jazz Orchestra, dem Bundesjazzorchester und dem
Sinfonieorchester des SR zusammen.
Auf Einladung des Goethe Institutes gingen sie im Herbst 2011 auf eine dreiwöchige Konzertreise, die sie nach Palau und auf die Philippinen führte. Sie waren die ersten Jazzmusiker, die jemals ein Konzert auf der Südseeinsel Palau spielten, wofür sie beispiellose Dankbarkeit und Begeisterung seitens der Inselbewohner erfuhren.

The Willit Blend
was founded in 2011 by six young musicians belonging to the Cologne jazz scene.
Inventive compositions form the basis for a music, which exhausts the dynamic range of a contemporary jazz ensemble.
Polyphone passages – as taken from chamber music soundscapes – skillfully connect to living improvisations and orchestral seeming force of sound. This transformation ability fascinates, because once feeling as if being in familiar waters, you’ll be drawn into the wide open sea of sounds to discover new worlds. In the course of a concert, together with the band, the listener can undergo deep and inartificial emotions, which are realized in the bands arrangements with a lot of sensitiveness.
Eventhough the musicians just finished their studies at the music highschool of Cologne (Germany), their music captivates with its originality. The musical maturity of the band members has been honored with prizes at international jazz competitions. Apart from their work with small jazz ensembles they frequently work together with big bands such as WDR, HR, SWR, the European Jazz Orchestra, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Bundesjazzorchester (BUJAZZO) and the Sinfonic Orchestra of the SR. 
Following an invitation by the Goethe Institute they went onto a concert tour to the Philippines and Palau in autumn 2011. On the pacific island of Palau they were the first jazz musicians ever to play a concert.
