Heute ist es soweit, wir feiern "10 Jahre Club Zooma"!

An dieser Stelle möchte ich deshalb DANKE sagen. Danke an alle,
die, egal ob aktiv oder passiv, dazu beigetragen haben, dass
unser Club 10 Jahre besteht.

Danke an Jasmin, die eigentlich nur eine flüchtige Bekannte war
aber dennoch angerufen hat "ey Norman, ein Kumpel will in Plauen
einen Club aufmachen, haste da nicht Bock bissl mitzumachen?".

Das war der ausschlaggebende Punkt! Keine Ahnung ob ich ohne sie
auch irgendwie zum Zooma gekommen wäre.

Ich weiß noch, vor 10 Jahren. Wir hatten uns unbekannter Weise
an der Tankstelle im "kalten Feld" Reichenbach getroffen und Du
hast voller Euphorie, aber mit genau so viel Blauäugigkeit, Deine
Vision vom Zooma erzählt. Wir waren in den 10 Jahren oft der gleichen
Meinung aber ich glaube noch öfter unterschiedlicher Meinung.
Vielleicht war das die benötigte Würze ;)

Vielen Dank an Jens, der mich immer mit "ach Norman, unser
dienstältester DJ" begrüsst. Auch wenn ich das immer abtue,
es ehrt mich wirklich sehr!!

Danke an DB, den ich durchs Zooma kennengelernt habe. Du warst mir
all die Jahre ein guter Freund. Auch in meinen "verrückten" Zeiten
warst Du dennoch immer korrekt. Vielen Dank dafür und besten
Gruß nach downunder ;)

Der größte Dank geht aber an meine liebe Frau, die es ohne Murren
und Knurren hin nimmt, dass ich so oft die ganze Nacht (Zooma Nächte
sind meist sehr sehr lang) in der Weltgeschichte rumtingel. Es ist
mir sehr wichtig, diesen Rückhalt zu haben!!! <3

In his version of This Is Your Beat Mike Starr sets on the profound interaction of voice, rhythm and fragments of a melody. Skillfully creating his very own funk. “You know it's true, don't you?" You know it's true, sometimes emotions can be darn unsettling and disturbing – as they flow deep down our consciousness uncovering fears, thoughts and feelings. Yes, if we're focused too much on our personal hedonistic euphorias, sometimes we lose that... It gets lost; You know it's true. You may know it's true.

Manfredi Romano aka Dj Tennis shapes this treasure, a release that is decisively out of the box; a small cathedral made of subtle shades and unusual EQ's, where ideas seduce and frighten.

That's “Divisions”, led by Danish singer and guitarist Jeppe Kjellberg. Who's words and voice are carefully crafted as a precious, poisoning weapon of concern and bewilderment; as it is “Chirality” a deep, insistent, gelid voyage. Which distinctively in this round, We find ourselves not only with Tennis' masterful production skills but also the astounding addition of Sophie Trudeau's string work – she's been the driving force behind the string sections of legendary Canadian post-rockers Godspeed You Black Emperor, one of the most dark, cinematic and unsettling rock acts of the last decades – which really ads a poignant and visionary mood and emotions we rarely encounter and by that we can rarely breathe.

The original edits have been respectfully and creatively revisited by techno pioneer Roman Flügel, who masterfully rubs “Divisions”; turning it into a sensual, devious, laid down affaire. Lastly, closing the ride , the legendary English duo Plaid - true masters and innovators within the Intelligent Dance Music field- grace “Chirality” with their very own touch made of alien sounds, mutant rhythm architectures, warm dynamics and heartbreaking melodic caresses that iconically represents their visions.

The yearlong hiatus is finally up. Ghost Culture is back, taking no prisoners whatsoever with this new double A-side release on Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sound. The acid flavour of the EP opener "Safe" sees Ghost Culture turning classic club sounds to a darker tone of house and techno. Still 'unashamedly club-rooted', the track sees progressions through different landscapes of dance music history – all painted within Phantasy's rubric of steady tension and euphoric release throughout.

Ghost Culture "Safe" - Boiler Room Debuts

As we promised, Ellen Allien is back. The BPitch Control boss' latest instalment is the Turn Off Your Mind EP, comprising of two raw, unpolished tracks of pure techno magic produced on a Roland Aira TR-8, TVB 303 and a Jupiter Synth in Ellen's living room. The EP evokes music time travel – most reminiscent of her time spent DJing at E-Wrk, Planet and Tresor in 1990s Berlin. On the A-side sits 'Hoo'. A rolling 8:08 time span of kaleidoscopic acid-soaked patterns and a cyclical bass line, all generous on the reverb. Despite a low tessitura, 'Hoo's moments of euphoria are still palpable. Ellen brings the sheer joy and thrill back to Berlin techno.

29th April is the due date to turn up your speakers and Turn Off Your Mind. Grab it on Beatport a little earlier, from 18th April.

What a hell of a tune! Featuring a deep mellow bass section and a strong repeating vocal sample: "I heard that the devil's playground is born". Indeed it is! Isn’t it fascinating how a track can be smokin’ hot and cold as ice at the same time?

Hell wouldn't be hell if there weren't great feasts of escapades. Sure thing our two hosts invited some friends. Stepping out of the darkest corners of the hall: Jonas Woehl  with his darkened production adding his field recording signature sound and bringing an even more progressive vibe to track. On the other side there's the clubbier Franz Alice Stern remix, taking it back to the dancefloor. 

Also escalating on the party: Dayne S who just makes you want to shake it while AUDHENTIK is experimenting with dubstep elements in his rendition. It’s absolutely impossible to resist this deadly squad, so don’t even try….
