Experimentation. During the last 2 years, I've tried to branch away from Hip/Hop sounding beats to more DnB-like beats. At first I'd just use premade DnB loops throughout the entire beat. I then changed to having my own original beat in the forefront and a DnB loop as a backing track to make my beats sound more full, examples of this are Moving Forward (By the Boot Straps) and The Tyrant (2022). More recently with Code L.T. I've cut the DnB loops into 2 separate patterns, one is just the kick and the other is just the snare (plus any other little hihat/cymbal sound if I like it) and I sequenced it myself, I feel it's more original that way, also more dynamic and less predictable. Anyway, my views are pretty low in this era, though I don't care much. My friends check it out, alongside a few SoundCloud artists and that's enough for me.

The profile picture displayed on most of the beats is the profile picture I had at the time: Dexter from Dexter's Lab and Plank from Ed, Edd n Eddy. Please don't look for the original source though...

Wanted to remake this beat in the style the original was done in--minus the premade DnB loops. I wanted to do it my way this time since I've gotten a bit better at making DnB (though I wonder if this could even be considered DnB since it's only at 90 BPM...) Anyway enjoy!

Finally finished this beat! Been working on this one for about a week (technically for 6 years since I originally came up with it back in 2015 but meh!) Been playing a lot more Iruna lately and been in the mood to making remixes to my favorite map themes.

Edit 05-10-24: I decided to change the song image to a mob on the map; a Twin Colon. I remember farming these guys back in the day because I was too weak to farm Megaroches and High Ents were too crowded. The exp really wasn't too bad and it gave me an excuse to stay on the map and listen to the theme :b.

[Iruna Online Remix]: Sigmi District

Been having both Code S and Good Morning on my mind for the past 2 weeks so I thought to just make a bit of a mix of the two. The rendition of Good Morning that is used is based off of an earlier version of Good Morning 2020 because I wanted to go for a more big, dissonant feel but backed off because I was afraid of it sounding too experimental. Anyway, enjoy!

Dimensional (2021)

I guess this would be the (newest)successor to Cryogen, a beat I had made back in 2017. I'm slightly disappointed in this beat though, my dreaded mental block came in while I was making this and I just couldn't get it to how I wanted it to go so there were only very minor changes from Beta to Official version. Oh well, I still like how it sounds though. Enjoy!

Edit 11/22/22: I didn't say at the time but I know why I called this one "Focus." I don't know if I projected it well but I hear the main guitar/bass line melody as representing my positive and optimistic viewpoint of my future while the high pianos represent my sadness and uncertainty of it. The synth and sax duo are to represent confusion and doubt and finally the main guitar synth is to represent my focus, to never give in and to keep going. In the second half, the piano/synth section is to represent how I want to give up and don't want to get back up even though I know I have to. And then it finally ends with the same guitar/bass line melody to re-establish that even though I want to give up, I know I won't and know that I will succeed.

Focus!

Ahh, first beat of the year! I wanted to start off by remaking a beat that I was disappointed in when I originally made it, being Code F. Really like how this turned out, hope I can continue to improve myself further!

Oh yeah Code EX: F is code of Extra Fat. Just an inside joke among friends, it's funny to us.

Edit: Just noticed that the 808 snare @2:33 is actually unintentionally offbeat, still sounds good to me so I'm just gonna call it a serendipitous inclusion and leave it at that!

Really wanted to make a boss battle theme this time around.

This beat comes from a .wav file I had somewhere in 2010-2011 from a PSP Rhythm sound pack I downloaded but lost a few years later. The original beat was intended to be a boss battle theme for a game I was working on at the time.

 Had to try to recreate how the main melody sounded from memory and I made a DnB remix of that. That's about it. 

Oh, also I'm trying out a new kind of transition, it's VERY much inspired by Rukunetsu's style but I really wanted to try to recreate it. You can hear it at around the 0:58 mark.

Since Captain Beezlem (which should actually be named "Beezlem Captain") is the boss of the map, I feel that it's appropriate for these guys to represent the map.

Division Of Ideals

Just got a bit of inspiration to make a soft and short DnB beat. Been really trying to get better at making these only using my own beats rather than premade loops since I really love the genre and would like to transition into making more (see what I did there?) Plus, making the beat myself just adds a bit more of a unique touch in my opinion. Got another project in the works right now that currently has an Alpha version posted on my alt account. Transition

I was really conflicted when I made this beat and ended up making two different versions. I just decided to go and post them both. This is the original form of the beat and while the Night version is my favorite of the two, I still like this one as well. The Day version is definitely a bit more wild and fast paced compared to the more refined and collected vibe of the Night version.

I was really conflicted with my latest beat as I ended up making two versions of it so I decided to just finish and post both. Out of the two, this is definitely my favorite version but I'm a sucker for slow beats. Maybe I should make more?

I'm a fledgling...composer? artist? Whatever you want to call me that makes primarily "experimental" Jungle and Hip Hop beats (though, I sometimes delve into other genres occasionally). Most of the beats that I make are pretty serendipitous and spontaneous, leaving me to have bouts of creative blocks, unfortunately. I have no concept or knowledge of sound theory or whatever, I just make stuff that sounds cool to me!

Everything I make is free to download and use for any non-commercial purpose, the only thing I'd like is a shout-out!

I started making beats back in late 2008 on Garageband, moved on to PSP Rhythm in late 2009 and then to FL Studio in late 2012. Has it really been that long...? Man, I'm getting old.

I'm influenced mostly by a mix of the hip hop/rap beats I heard as a kid back in the late 90s/early 2000s, games that I played during that time and Soichi Terada (the guy who made the music for Ape Escape)

Secondary influences have to definitely be Rukunetsu, Marcell2aG (Negrosaki) (been a fan of both since 2009!) and Amprsand (been a fan since 2010!). Another realization is that NomedBeats (been a fan since 2014!) is another influence and maybe even more prominent than the others, lol.
