Zaire Akeem: A Modern Day Jack-of-All Trades

Wise words spoken from a humbled man, Ziear, better known as Zaire Akeem has had his share of ups and downs. Born and raised in Long Beach, CA, Ziear knows first hand how easy it is to succumb to the streets and gang life; making the wrong decisions for the right reasons. The product of a large and talented family, this former football standout was sure his dreams would lead to the NFL, but God works in mysterious ways, and today he’s an up and coming artist with CEO ambitions. 

Recalling the moment he first fell in love with hip-hop at 8 years old, it was a year later that he actually started rapping. “I started battling other young talent in the bathroom at school and freestyling
 ling at parties to develop my skills into a perfected craft.” But it wasn’t until his freshman year of college that he truly understood the process, writing, producing and mastering his first full song. A chance introduction connected him with Murda Mark and Kevin "Khao" Cates, Grand Hustle’s official beat makers and eventually helped him work with producers On various levels of the game.
While it’s easy to write off rappers nowadays, Akeem’s music incites raw emotion, speaks to his sacrifices, struggles  and mirrors his dedication. A conscious rapper providing a message of substance, this journey by no means has been easy, but the daughters he's adamant about raising, provides all the motivation needed. As did the late artist 2-Pac, Akeem hopes to create a timeless legacy that enlighten , unites and contributes to the community. 

He’s currently working on his Lp while marketing and branding his most recent Project, Dead Poet Society that was released in December 2013. A persistent pursuit of success, trust you’ll be hearing more of Zaire Akeem. He’s definitely up next.

Twin sisters Paris and Amber Strother and musical compadre Anita Bias are KING.

In 2011 KING independently released their first EP to much acclaim;  title track “The Story,” (featured on GLAMOUR‘s Top Songs Playlist), “Supernatural” (NPR's Song of the Day) and “Hey” (featured in 2014 motion picture ‘About Last Night’) make up the 3-piece introduction to their carefully crafted future-soul sound. Hours after the release, their EP had traveled far to music lovers and tastemakers alike, trending on Twitter and making new fans of many. KING have since been preparing their debut full-length album due for release Summer 2014 and are excited to invite their listeners further into their sound. The album will also include the ethereal romance “In The Meantime” (Top 2013 Pick by NPR, The Guardian UK, and Buzzbands LA). 

KING’s smooth vibe, intricate production and harmonic style evolved beautifully in their home studio, a product solely of the three women. Paris produces KING’s songs, while Amber and Anita are the primary singers. The three work together on songwriting and vocal arrangements to create own their very uniquely soulful sound.

Citing influences ranging from a myriad of genres, KING’s eclectic sound is both relatable yet not simply defined. Though their cross-genre sound plays with the boundaries of their varied influences, maintained throughout each of their compositions is the common thread of a certain soulful authenticity. From Ebony Magazine: “KING bypasses the impulse to categorize musicians into a singular box by falling somewhere in the utopian realm of nostalgic R&B, futuristic soul and folksy-bluesy jazz." Add to that their electronic, new wave and downtempo tastes, their penchant for storytelling and their exceptional ability to blend 3 voices and perspectives- and the result is a melting pot of music that harks to an earlier time of unbridled exploration and creativity. With deep roots in the South, Jasmyne fell in love with the rhythmic feels of musical storytelling and honored this outlet of her creative expression. In the early stages of life, Hinson began singing in church while her mother would accompany her on piano. Jasmyne Hinson began her musical career at 16 and credits that time in the studio to her development as an artist. 
In March 2019, her EP, Moon Love, was released. The depth of her voice and vocal instrumental influences put the world on notice. This piece of art served as the ode to her purpose and mission as an artist, “to always be felt”.
