By embracing disharmony and unexpected shifts in my music, I am not only accepting reality as it is, but also transforming it into something meaningful and intimate for me. This creates a space where vulnerability and acceptance coexist, allowing me to find love and beauty in the imperfect and even the disturbing.

The songs on the album were recorded and mixed april – july 2020 in Moda, Istanbul. 

20 years ago I traveled by train to the south-eastern part of Turkey. The pictures in the album 
were taken of an ancient city located on the shores of the Tigris River in Batman called Hasankeyf. I was able to see this remarkable archaeological site before it flooded in 2020 because of the Ilısu Dam project. 

Despite local and international objections, this mega-project was responsible for putting 12.000 years of unexplored archaeological treasures, nature and local heritage underwater. 

This album is a dedication to the flooded city of Hasankeyf, in silence may you rest.

Like the gaps in everyday life, the mundane moments that go unnoticed, 
‘Roll’ is a vignette of seamless, aching strings on a backdrop of looping piano, gradually layered into a quiet crescendo as raw as it is gently fluttering.

Kerry Leimer has been producing music and experimental sound since the mid- 1970s. One of the early independent Seattle labels, he founded Palace of Lights in late 1979 as a means to release his work and that of others, free of commercial concern. In addition to PoL his recordings are available on the Autumn, Cherry Red, First Terrace, Invisible Inc., Les Giants, Longform Editions, RVNG, and VOD labels. PoL currently represents works by K. Leimer, Marc Barreca, Barreca | Leimer, Steve Peters, Savant, Gregory Taylor, and Three Point Circle. Palace of Lights releases are distributed exclusively by Revolver and represented by First Terrace Publishing. His work is included in the collection of The British Library.
