Khruangbin are the Texas based three-piece that make psychedelic, acid jazz infused Thai funk music. Oh yes. Comprised of Laura Lee, Mark Speer and Donald Johnson, the trio have supported Bonobo across his USA tour and even had a track included in his Late Night Tales mix last year.LNT's artist label Night Time Stories subsequently signed them up, with single 'A Calf Born In Winter' released 19th May and an album in the works. "This is our very first mix tape. As such, we wanted to draw on original inspirations to each of us individually in the band, as well as together. In this we pull on Acid Jazz, Gospel, Brazilian Funk and Psych, Thai & Japanese Pop/Rock, "farm rock", Dub, Funk, and R&B to hopefully create a mix that is varied in style yet cohesive in feel. We hope you all enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it."
