We are looking forward to introduce Marco Resmanns new EP on Watergate Records, which starts off with a RAD-feature: "Life About To Change" is a vocal-based track, whose dreamy synth-scapes wind around a deeply reduced beat structure.

The second track, whose name is reminiscent of Marco’s summer-Thursday-residency on the Waterfloor, begins playful and timid, but picks up speed gradually after its first break. "Thursdate" comes with a massive remix by the Pokerflat-mastermind Steve Bug.

Following the release of ‘Watergate 15 mixed by Kerri Chandler’, Watergate Records offer up a vinyl sampler, featuring the exclusive new material on the comp from the man himself, and remixes from Voyeur, La Fleur and Lola Purple & Maine.

Kerri Chandler has been one of the most prominent names in electronic music for over three decades now, so it was no surprise to see him enlisted for the reputable Watergate compilation series this year, following mixes from the likes of Sebo K, Ellen Alien, Tiefschwarz and Solomun. Here the imprint drops a vinyl sampler of fresh Chandler material made for the compilation, with some stellar remixes from some rising artists thrown in for good measure.

First up is ‘Mama feat. Jerome Sydenham’, which takes on a classic Kerri format of swinging rhythms, a cosseting chord sequence, jazz-tinged low-end and piano lines, and Sydenham’s spoken word vocal stylings. ‘Think Of Something’ follows, upping the energy slightly with a gritty saw-wave bass hook, stabbing pad samples and an amalgamation of chopped and processed vocal snippets.

Kerri’s protégés Voyeur step up on the first of the remixes, reworking ‘Mama’ into a groove-led number, fuelled by bulbous subs, loose percussion and an ever-evolving dynamism achieved through multilayered melodies. Rising star La Fleur turns in an interpretation of ‘Mama’ next, the Swedish producer tips the focus towards raw drums and penetrating bass, while smooth melodies brilliantly meander around them, creating a classy dance-floor focused workout. Then last up to round off the package is Manchester duo Lola Purple & Maine’s remix of ‘Think Of Something’, the pair deliver an intriguing remix very much unique to them, we see processed vocal snippets, growling bass, infectious hooks and warm pads all skillfully blended to create a stunning closing record.

By anyone's standards, KI/KI has had a meteoric rise. She started DJing at queer party SPIELRAUM in Amsterdam in 2018, and by now she's one of Europe's most-talked about DJs. She blends modern strands of techno with trance and acid in a way that feels all her own, veering away from the sugar highs of other DJs or the clobbering kick drums of so much fast dance music. Her style is aerodynamic and sleek, not bludgeoning.

In addition to her DJ career, KI/KI runs the label slash, which has put out music from the likes of Alpha Tracks, Peachlyfe and Newa, artists who share her canny blend of trance and techno aesthetics and sneaky pop sensibilities. Acid is another big love, as shown by her 5HRS OF ACID concept. The decades-old sound has become a key part of her style and appeal, as you'll hear on her RA Podcast. It's a barreling 90 minutes through techno and trance with trap and dubstep accents, breathless but perfectly paced.

“You know it's true, don't you?" You know it's true, sometimes emotions can be darn unsettling and disturbing – as they flow deep down our consciousness uncovering fears, thoughts and feelings. Yes, if we're focused too much on our personal hedonistic euphorias, sometimes we lose that... It gets lost; You know it's true. You may know it's true.

Manfredi Romano aka Dj Tennis shapes this treasure, a release that is decisively out of the box; a small cathedral made of subtle shades and unusual EQ's, where ideas seduce and frighten.

That's “Divisions”, led by Danish singer and guitarist Jeppe Kjellberg. Who's words and voice are carefully crafted as a precious, poisoning weapon of concern and bewilderment; as it is “Chirality” a deep, insistent, gelid voyage. Which distinctively in this round, We find ourselves not only with Tennis' masterful production skills but also the astounding addition of Sophie Trudeau's string work – she's been the driving force behind the string sections of legendary Canadian post-rockers Godspeed You Black Emperor, one of the most dark, cinematic and unsettling rock acts of the last decades – which really ads a poignant and visionary mood and emotions we rarely encounter and by that we can rarely breathe.

The original edits have been respectfully and creatively revisited by techno pioneer Roman Flügel, who masterfully rubs “Divisions”; turning it into a sensual, devious, laid down affaire. Lastly, closing the ride , the legendary English duo Plaid - true masters and innovators within the Intelligent Dance Music field- grace “Chirality” with their very own touch made of alien sounds, mutant rhythm architectures, warm dynamics and heartbreaking melodic caresses that iconically represents their visions.

Publications like Thump, Mixmag and Attack Magazine have published features on the duo, and they’ve contributed guest mixes for such iconic series as Get Physical Radio and Transitions with John Digweed. As big as their audience has grown, their vision has remained the same: to be a beacon of light on otherwise dark dance floors. 

For the foreseeable future, Dance Spirit have solidified their role as a permanent fixture in the world of underground electronic music. As always, they’re content to let the music speak for itself.
