Dear Reader, 

Not all songs must exist on the grid. This song has no click track and therefore, it breathes. As a result, nothing was quantized. It's real playing and real performances. I hope that you can hear it. 

Of course,  the song was multitracked (I played and sang everything, so it had to be) and since there was no grid, I had to listen and react to make it gel.  I hope you consider what I did a success. 

Thanks as always for coming back to listen to more of my music. In the past four years I have produced more than 140 original music videos and I have gained 800 subscribers. This is only the beginning. I have much more music to write, arrange and produce, and I am thankful for every listen.

Something Up Your Sleeve

This classic Grateful Dead song has been a favorite of JJ's since his playing in a bar band days, decades ago. Therefore, he decided to come up with a perfect, lively skeleton on his piano for us to use for it, and shared it with us. Josh, being a Deadhead as well, jumped on the chance to play Phil's part on his four string fretless bass. Ken, who isn't necessarily a Deadhead, but can play most anything, jumped on with his driving drums around the same time as Josh added his bass line, as they went back and forth a few times before getting the rhythm section settled. 
  Stephen came along next with his cunning rhythm guitar, follow closely by his solo for the solo section. JJ added his solo for that section right after Stephen had laid his part down. Then we turned it over to James to add his rich, accent-drenched vocals. 
  When we had all the parts down, we turned it over to James (or Stephen) to produce and mix for us, which he did in expert fashion.
  This song was a lot of fun for the Deadheads in the band and non-Deadheads alike to record. This is also the second collaboration done by James and the Eclectic Collective, and we all enjoyed having him on this project.
  We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

What could replace a repeat of Ben Hur on the telly maybe your imagination and of course The Annual Space Racers Convention which takes place across from the Dyinthyian Crystal Galaxy on the eve of the annual Great Cosmic Spacial Tide Shift of the Dronaguran Nebula Cloud which is some 300 million light years across creating a unique and challenging obstacle course for the space racers with untold galactic wealth from gambling and cheating with the winner taking the Alien Magical Music Box as a trophy giving the owner untold cosmic powers when heard and with many deaths each year as light speed travel is common place and in such a vast area of space authorities have no chance of stopping the race in this original fantasy sci-fi techno acid soundtrack instrumental! Race commences on a brief opening of the music box by the Guardian who can also enter the race to try and win back there trophy as from this point on the music box cannot be physically moved until the race is completed or everybody dies and then the box will close and it returns to the cosmic void to re-appear in the same spot next tidal shift and the race starts again! A magical ball of light is released when race commences, which entrants chase on an unknown course through the nebula cloud set by the cosmic powers held within the alien music box, winner is the entrant who makes it back alive and has followed the light throughout the full course! Then the light returns to the music box upon closing of the of the Great Spacial Tidal Shift and the new Guardian is chosen and is the only one who may then pick up and physically hear the music box and receive its cosmic powers!
